Chapter 6

1510 Words
Rhea ‘Rhea! Rhea! Wake up! Fight back! Find your strength!’ Sira’s voice pounds desperately in my head. I can feel her fear. It’s even more than my own. ‘Don’t let them violate you, Rhea! Fight back!’ She’s right. I can’t let these monsters destroy me. I’m too young to die. I shut my eyes tightly and try to summon the strength I used to push Marcus away after I caught him cheating on me. But no matter how hard I try to force the strength out, it doesn’t come. The monsters are on me now, while Marcus just watches while smiling deviously. Come on... Come on... I try to close my eyes and force it out. Nothing. In fact, I feel weaker than before. Tears slowly trail down my cheeks as I realize that this is truly it. Papa, I'm sorry that I won't be able to be there for you anymore. I love you always.. I detach my mind from the present as a wave of calmness washes over me. I stop fighting them. It'll all be over soon. Very soon. Just as they began to drag my dress off, a loud cool rings out in the night, making them automatically freeze. "What was that?" I hear Marcus ask in a scared voice. "That was the howl of an Alpha! f**k!" One of the man-beasts growls. I can hear the fear in his voice. What does he mean by an Alpha? The other one steps away from me and walks over to Marcus, grabbing him by the neck. "You fucker! You said this place was quiet! Did you lead us here to set us up?!" "what- no! no!!...! don't even know anything… " "Rio, let the fool be! there's no time for that, we have to get her out of here immediately." I whimper in pain when they pull me up. It feels like every bone in my body is broken. I look up to see Marcus running away. That pathetic loser. Before they can lift me, a loud, terrifying roar fills the air, making me almost pee my pants. "Oh s**t. He's here." What is here? But before I can properly understand what's happening one of the man-beasts is yanked away from me and flung into a nearby tree, much like I was a few minutes ago. Then followed by the second one. But that's not what shocks me next. I slowly turn my head and come face to face with the largest, scariest wolf I’ve ever seen. I thought those man-beasts were scary, but this one is even more terrifying. Because this one is a real animal. A real wild, hungry and angry looking animal. Wild animals only do one thing, which is eat. The big black wolf is almost the size of a small tree, the chest is so broad that it blocks out the moonlight. With every slow step it takes, the ground vibrates from the impact. That’s how huge it is. The wolf doesn’t waste any second as it viciously tears into two men who were about to kidnap me, tearing them from limbs to limbs. The sound of flesh tearing and blood gushing everywhere makes me want to empty my whole lunch on the ground. The scene is so gory that I have to close my eyes so I don’t witness it anymore. I wait for a few minutes until it’s over. When everywhere is silent again, I slowly peel my eyes open. Big mistake. The big black wolf is now standing, in front of me, silent and bloody. No. He’s not standing. He’s towering over me. All the blood in my veins freezes as my life flashes before my eyes. I have never in my 22 years of life seen anything as terrifying as this. A scream bubbles at the back of my throat, but when I open my mouth, nothing comes out. I’m completely frozen and unable to move and react. The wolf is so huge that I’m certain it can crush me beneath its feet without any resistance. The wolf suddenly opens its mouth, jaws parting wide enough to swallow me whole. Terror grips me, a scream tearing through my throat as I bury my face between my knees. “Please..please…don’t hurt me…” I sob uncontrollably because I know it won’t listen to my plea. Animals are not programmed to feel sorry for their prey. I keep my face buried in my thighs, waiting for the moment he’ll pounce on me and devour me. Only, that moment doesn’t come. Instead, “Are you okay?” A thick male voice breaks through my reverie. Wait, what? When I raise my head up again, an audible gasp escapes me. The big black wolf that was just about me has disappeared and in its place is a man that is half naked, save for the tattered looking pair of pants hanging low on his lips. I can’t see his face because of the darkness but I have a feeling he’s captivating. His voice alone sounds hypnotic. “Who…who are you? Where is the wolf that was just here now?” I whisper weakly, glancing around. How did the animal disappear so fast and who is this man? “You don’t need to worry about that.” He states firmly, almost like he’s annoyed by my question. “Take my hand.” I see a long, thick and veined hand stretched towards me. “There was a scary wolf…it was big and it…it killed those..” “Do you want my help or not?” His voice is harsh now, making me jerk up. My face heats up in frustration at being dismissed like I don’t know what I’m saying. Who even is he? I consider telling him to go away for a moment, but I’m not stupid enough to leave myself unprotected in this forest once more. So I accept his offer to help and hesitantly take his hand. What happens next is beyond my comprehension. The second my hand touches his, a spark of electric bursts out of my palm and clashes with his and it suddenly feels like there’s an invisible string tying my hand to his. I gasp in shock. “What the–” My mouth dries up as the man’s eyes light up in red plus golden hue. Almost like mine had, but even more intense. More…extraordinary. The man immediately withdraws his hand like I burned him. So he felt the sparks too? He stares at me in silence. The air suddenly feels thick and suffocating. Even though the darkness is hiding his face, I can still feel his intense gaze on me. I wish to keep looking at him but my body feels weaker now. Lighter. My vision begins to blur, my breath stuttering. The last thing I see before everything goes dark is his tall figure slowly backing away from me. “Wait…” Everything goes black. Alpha Adrian I stare at the frail human who is now lying face down in dirt. What the f**k just happened? Why did I feel a bond to this…human? Who is she?? ‘Mate! Our mate!’ Talon answers my thoughts. He sounds too excited. Too sure of this. “Not f*****g possible.” I chuckle to myself. “We are mateless, remember? Or have you forgotten the moon goddess?” “She’s our mate!’ He insists with a growl. “Even if we could somehow find our mate, it wouldn’t be a weak, pathetic and defenseless human. It would be a great she-wolf. Cut that thought off. No mate. It’s just me and you for life.” Talon is such a stubborn wolf. He’s a great Alpha but sometimes he needs to be whacked in the head. I would have done it but that would mean whacking my own head which is painful, so I want no part in it. Talon doesn’t say anything at first, then suddenly, I feel my d**k start to rise against my will, straining painfully against my jeans. “What the f**k? Cut it out, Tal!” I groan angrily, trying to force my d**k to sit back. ‘No! f**k her and mark her now! She’s ours!’ Talon yells in my head. “Are you insane? She’s unconscious and I’m not into somnophila!” The bastard finally releases my d**k. “Alpha? Are you good?” I turn to find my beta running towards me. “You stormed off without saying why–woah. Who’s she?” He pauses when he notices the unconscious girl in front of me. “Take her to the hospital. Have Yan treat her then take her somewhere I’ll never have to see her ever again. I’m outta here.” “Wait…but..” “Do as I say.” My eyes flash red at him, making him have no choice but to obey his Alpha. I take one last look at the girl before running off faster than I ever have in my life. ***
