Leah’s POV
Today was Kaya’s 18th Birthday. I had rung Mel and asked if she minded if I came over for a while to see Tiffin and Red. I didn’t know what else to do. She wasn’t buried, so I didn’t have anywhere special to go and talk to her.
She would have wanted me to check in on the horses for her. It’s all I could think to do.
‘Kaya, it’s so lovely to hear your voice. We were going to call you and ask you over this evening, but we didn’t get round to it yet. I hope you are free?’
‘Of course, what time shall I come?’
‘Lisa was going to come and see to the horses at lunch time, why don’t I see if she has time to go for a ride with you? We were going to have dinner and then scatter Kaya’s ashes. We know she wasn’t buried, but we have a plot so we can have a headstone and somewhere to go
