Amelia POV Birdie’s friend, who went by Reg, would be here in two hours. Dale was dead. Tiberius would be here in roughly six hours. Dale was dead. Birdie, exhausted from all the driving, passed out on the bed without showering. Dale was dead. I showered, but my muscles wouldn’t relax. I hadn’t gotten much sleep on the drive either, but when I laid down, I couldn’t sleep at all. No matter how many times I told myself that Dale was dead, I just couldn’t believe it. When my dad had died, Dale had approached me at the funeral pyre.
