Shaurya
I knew that there was a big one inside this water and he was the king of all those fishes which had attacked us a while back. Because I have never heard the voice of this dragon, it was difficult for me to recognize that it was a dragon. This all feels so unreal, but at the same, it is all exciting.
“What are you thinking and smiling about?” I heard his voice and came out of my daze.
“I am just enjoying all this.” He rolled his eyes. I chuckled a bit, which was followed by the heaving sound which was produced by the dragon. I looked above and saw that all the birds were flying in the sky. I am pretty much sure that it all happened because of the sound which was produced by him.
I took the fighting position but what came next was something that I didn’t expect. He had blown out the water from his mouth in my direction. It was like water was coming out from a hose, but the difference is that the force was high and that made me unable to stand in one position, even if I tried to defend it. I was getting pushed backwards and after sometime the force grew bigger, which rooted me up from my place and pushed me back and my back hit something hard and I don’t think there is any wall, which naturally means that it must be a tree. The water force in my direction was gone.
“Shaurya, are you alright?” I looked up and made a thumbs up.
“I am alright.” Though my back had hit the tree hard, I thought I would be able to carry forward. I guess one of the best moves of this dragon is the water blowing. I have to be more careful in further time. I stood up, but my legs were wobbly. It was getting hard for me to stand.
“Can you still fight?” I felt a hand around my shoulder and I looked at him and I smiled.
“I am strong enough to fight further. I just need a few minutes to adapt, but I don’t think that we have that much time.” I said and came out of his support. Sometimes it is good that we get some support, but if that always comes in your way, then it can make you rely on them and relying on support is not at all something that I like, but thinking about them back. When I was in danger, he was the one who helped me and I was in trouble at that time. I had no other option but to rely on him, but now I will try not to rely on him and make more trouble for him. I smiled and looked at the dragon which was flying just a few inches above the water.
“Then I will try to help you get there in those few minutes.” I looked at him and in a blink he was in front of the dragon and jumped off the ground and started to get around the dragon and that, site was unreal to me. He was powerful and I don’t think that I am needed over here, but I don’t really know if he will be able to handle him or not.
I was all good and ran further and Prashant came and stood beside me. The dragon looked at both of us and was looking in rage. He started to attack with his tail and we were able to dodge it and that was not helping the dragon at all, but was working as fuel in the fire and then he was ready to attack and I looked at Prashant and he nodded at it. We are both aware of what is coming in our way now. At the moment he blew out the water, we both jumped in the opposite direction.
I started to make a run towards the dragon and was holding over the knife so that when I got near to him, then I would slice him, but he caught my movement and I again looked at Prashant. One of us could kill him. One has a duty knife and the other has inexpressible power. It would be fruitful if we cooperated well and killed this dragon separately.
“Now.” I shouted and the dragon was about to do the same attack when Prashant landed on the centre of his body and then, with all the force, he punched and it was followed by a shrill voice. I smirked because I knew that he must be feeling the pain which I wanted him to. Though I don’t have that intention of killing him, I don’t think that his death is inevitable. He looked towards Prashant and was ready to attack him when I took that chance and, with a duty knife, stabbed him at one point and, again, that voice was heard. I know that this must be a painful one, but when it comes to survival, then a human really can do anything and can even take the life of another person as well.
I looked at Prashant. I don’t want to see him dying in my own hands and I hope that day never comes and, even if it comes, then I would choose to die instead of him.
“Shaurya.” I was distracted by thoughts that I hadn’t seen the next move. In a minute, I was submerged in the water. With its tail, he pushed me into the water. If I had been careful, then I wouldn’t have submerged.
I opened my eyes and saw the half dead bodies of those fishes and red water around me. This mess was created by me only. I swam after gaining consciousness and saw that, on behalf of me, Prashant was taking care of me. I have to get near him. I went inside the water. Everything inside this water was making me vomit. I want to get out of here as soon as possible, but it is not possible until I kill this dragon.
I swam where he was and through the water I was looking at him. Prashant was doing well at his work and now it was my turn to complete my part of the job. I jumped out of the water and stabbed him in his stomach. His shrill voice was making my ear go deaf. I looked at him with determination inside me and made a final strike at him and that strike had covered almost every part of his body and knew knew the next moment, his shrill voice also came to a halt and he fell down knew the water and I also fell in the water, but a hand grabbed me before I knew knew too deep and I know whose hand it was. I smiled. Then I felt the push out of the water and then we were on the ground.
“Are you alright?” He rubbed my back and I nodded my head.
“I am feeling much better.” I looked at the water, which was a deeper shade of red and that was because of the king’s blood.
“We have defeated it.”
“If this wasn’t the situation, then I would have thought a lot before killing it.”
“That is not your fault at all. You aren’t given so many options, but two, either die or kill and you only said that if we can defeat the king, then we can only find our way back.” I nodded. I know what he is trying to say. I agree with his words and none of them are lying. In order to find a way back we have to find the king, but is the afterwards the same as I had thought? I am doubting that now because I thought that maybe this is what the end will be, but I don’t really know if that is really the end.
“Where are you lost?”
“Nothing.” We both started to move forward and the sun started to set. I didn’t realize that it took so much of our time while fighting with them and now even my muscles are aching. I don’t know about that, but I am sure it might be because I was sleeping for quite some time and when I woke up and even before it was twenty-four hours,,, I faced a fight. I am not saying this is the correct explanation, but just my assumption.
“This time I will go and search for the food.” I looked at him and shook my head and held his hand.
“You need to rest. I will get the fruit.” I said, and before he could reply anything to me, I ran away from there. I looked back at him.
“You have just been waiting for me here.” I said to him and then looked forward and found a tree which had such fruit on it and that made me feel happy, and I climbed the tree and took out the fruit and went back, but to my surprise, I didn’t see Prashant anywhere. I didn’t know where to look for him. I looked here and there and found some footprints which weren’t deep and I think that they must be of Prashant, as I haven’t seen any more humans so far.
I followed that direction and heard some whispering and that made me move more forward and after a few minutes of walking, I saw a silhouette and I ran and the head of the silhouette turned in my way and the moonlight helped me recognize the person and a smile came over my face.
“Prashant.” I called out to him and went beside him. “What are you doing over here?” He didn’t say anything but looked down and I followed his eyes and saw a woman in the hole.
“What is going on?”
“I don’t know how to find her, but when I was waiting for you I heard the voice of this woman and when I came running over here, I didn’t find anyone and then I found her over here, but I am clueless about how to bring her back to her.” I didn’t say anything but looked here and there and found the vine at the short distance.
“Wait here for a few minutes,” I said, and placed the fruit on the ground and went towards the tree and started to take off the vine. It was quite hard and when I was successful, then it was short and right now nothing else could help me but cut it off and I took out my duty knife and cut the vein off and I took it towards the hole.
“How are we going to pull her? She is unconscious.” I sighed at this thought. I didn’t see that she was not in her senses before. “Then I will go down and you hold this.”
“But…”
“Now, but only work,” I said. I went down and held the girl over my back. She looked younger than I had imagined. I held over the vine.
“Pull me up.” I said, and then I felt the pull. If this hole weren't deep, then I might have gotten away from here easily, but that is not the case with me right now. I was coming up but I heard that this vine was going to c***k sometime soon. I had to climb over in a hurry. I climbed and, as expected, because we could reach the surface, the vine broke, but before we could get down I held on the edge of the ground.
“Shaurya.”
“I am here only.” Only to my surprise, this girl isn’t too heavy. He held my hand and pulled me to the ground. I laid the girl on the ground and didn’t say anything but sat aside from her in the other direction.
“Maybe you could treat her.”
“I am not a doctor.”
“But yet you have the knowledge.” I smirked in his way and he shook his head. I must have annoyed him, but who cares?
