The mulberry grass was soft under my feet as I crouched down somewhere in the middle of the maze. My chest was heaving from the sprint and my breathing was coming in short gasps. Every muscle of mine ached due to overexertion and fear. I was tensed, worried they might come here any moment.
I was still in danger and their creepy smiles sent shivers down my spine. I was worried that any moment now they would pop out either from below the ground or from the trees above. I tried getting up when my breathing became somewhat normal, and my heart didn't pump loud enough to shake the bushes beside me.
