The Lunch Tour
A week after I recovered from the cold and conjunctivitis, I still had a post-cold cough, but I was ready to start my lunch tour, which is the non-celebrity version of the talk show circuit. A lunch tour is when you go to lunch with one friend after another and tell each one what happened on your trip. I was a smash hit. I started with Mitch.
I had errands to run that morning, plus a trip to Central Market. Central Market is in upscale Alamo Heights and carries imported specialty everything and has the biggest gluten-free selection and the best cheese department in the city, so I do a pilgrimage there about three times a year.
