Aila pov.
My breath get stuck in my lungs, head got dizzy and started to see stars.
I cannot believe the news I’ve just got. It is not possible my aunt is dead.
She was one of the strongest female warriors in our pack, nobody could defeat her except our Alpa, even the beta and gamma could not. Not that they did not try, but simply she was better then any of them. She was born with special abilities, she had enhanced speed, and I mean she was extremely fast, nobody in our pack could keep up with her only our Alpha. She could keep up with vampires without a sweat and even other enhanced species had trouble with her.
There is a possibility she had some vampire genes and this was the result of it, but we cannot be sure as we do not know who are her parents, my grandparents.
She and my mother were both found on the border of our pack, aunt Barbara was holding my mom. They were really small back them, my aunt was only 10 and my mom was a 6 month old baby. They both were dirty, malnourished and looked like they went through hell. My aunt did not remember anything about their lives, not even their names. The doctor said it was the trauma that caused it. Until today nobody knows what has happened to them, or how they ended up here.
I snapped back to reality and focused my attention to my mom. I loved my aunt with all my heart and my mom loved her the same.
“Mom?” I asked.
She looked at me and said. “ We have to go now.”
“Where?” I cautiously asked.
“ To the border Aila, to investigate and not to leave it to the pack only, she is my sister and you and I have the best senses after your late aunt and our Alpa.” She said.
I gulp and nodded my head, but my insides were screaming. I did not know how I can act professionally when I will be seeing my aunts dead body in front of me.
We run outside and made it to the pack border within 30 seconds. My heart was hurting knowing I will not go for these runs with my aunt no more. I can only imagine what my mom is going through.
As we approach we saw half a dozen pack warriors and the doctor standing there and talking amongst themselves, still shocked of the death that occurred. They could not comprehend who could have done this, snuck in and hurt my aunt without setting off any alarms.
Our pack is well secured with cameras in every border sections and border patrol.
My aunt has no business to do in the north border as she wasn’t assigned to be a border patrol.
Slowly getting closer to where she was laying started to smell the blood, and it was lots of it.
I held my breath and step by step get closer to her with my mom right next to me. What I saw made me freeze. Her body was in the weirdest angle, like when people had fallen from high buildings. Her limbs where in a weird angle, head barely recognisable and by the looks of it lots of bones are broken.
My mother took a deep breath and stepped forward. She kneeled next to her and put her hands on my aunts chest, as if she was trying to make sure she is really gone. Slowly pulled her hand away, then stand up and walked away without a word. She went to the nearest tree and punched it with her whole might with such a strong force the whole tree broke in half. Everyone suddenly stopped what they were doing and froze in the spot.
They all knew my family have massive strength but they did not expect even my mother to be so strong as my aunt.
My mom turned around and all I could see is her rage, her eyes turned black and irises red.
I saw my mom angry before but never like this, there was a red aura around her almost like a red glow. Her dark black hair looked like air was swirling around it, her face looked nothing like 20 minutes ago in our kitchen, all I saw is rage. Everyone took a step back and they tried to pull me with them. I did not move, I walk towards my mother and slowly touched her hand, felt like something zapped me. Like that aura of her woke something up in me and at the same time connected me to my mom.
Suddenly I felt her rage. It was enormous. I never felt such rage in my life.
But behind her pain and sorrow slowly started to push over, that’s when I have fallen to my knees and screamed from pain. I thought my pain and sorrow was unbearable, yet here I am screaming from my mothers pain. Tears rolling down my eyes like a waterfall.
I looked back up to her and I see her eyes turned back to normal, to the same blue as mine.
She kneeled down next to me and hugged me tightly.
“ I am sorry Aila. “ mom said. “ Never wanted you to feel this, all this time I had my power under control but today I lost control of them for the first time. “ she sighed sadly.
I was too stunned from the pain to say anything just nodded my head.
