Chapter 3

The following morning, all twenty cars are waiting at the starting line. The Holmes siblings were in an old Chevy Impala, obviously it used to be their grandfathers. The Travers brothers were in Graham’s Mustang. Matt and his best friend, Troy, were trying to look intimidating in a Camaro. Meanwhile, the Locke sisters were bickering at each other in a Ferrari. They all listened to the radio as John Travers went over the rules of the race. With the tension building, John finally blew the horn signaling the start of the race.

Almost immediately, Matt and Graham were neck and neck as they left the starting area. Rae just looked over Darren, who was shaking his head. They had three weeks to finish the race and they were already trying to show off. Rae also shook her head as she started to make her way through the course ahead of them.

Starting from the southern point of Florida, all the teams made their way to Georgia. Like typical weather in Florida, the rain was on and off. With it being summer, everyone was thankful for either air conditioning or something cold to drink. The humidity was thick and was causing tons of mirages along the way. However, the first real test was the traffic jam caused by construction and an accident due to someone not paying attention to said construction. Having to unfortunately be right next to the Locke sisters, Rae knew that Lacy would try something. However, Lacy’s taunts to Rae were falling on deaf ears. Rae was too busy listening to the radio and her brother’s commentary about the other drivers as they waited to pass the construction and accident. Meanwhile, Matt was glaring over at Graham. William noticed this and thought about asking Graham what Matt’s problem was, but thought better of it.

After an hour, all the cars were able to continue with the race. Hours later, they were finally arriving at the first checkpoint near Jacksonville. Everyone checked in with their teams and then checked into their hotel where they were staying for the night. Only a few drivers actually stayed behind to make sure that everything was good to go for the next day. Luckily, word got around that there wasn’t going to be any construction for the next couple of days of the race. Some of the tension was eased with that news.

As Rae entered her hotel room, she was thankful to see that she was rooming with Grace. Once they freshened up, they both headed out to meet up with their families for dinner. Thankfully it was a fun filled dinner consisting of good food, drink and great company. Rae saw it as a sigh that the race this year would be a good one. Unfortunately, the same couldn’t be said about her dreams.

Rae found herself back home. The party had been going strong for a couple of hours. Suddenly she felt an arm go around her waist. Turning, she saw that it was Matt. But for some godforsaken reason she was happy it was him and smiled. He then leaned in and gave her a lingering kiss before pulling back. Rae blushed at the public display of affection.

“Hey, I need to go use the bathroom. I’ll be right back”, she told Matt. “Alright, Babygirl. Don’t get lost”, Matt said jokingly as they were at her house. Rae giggled before walking off and going into her house. She waved at her friends who were also doing the race as she made her way to the stairs. Once she got to her room and closed the door, she noticed that she could still hear the music thumping through the house.

After she relieved herself, Rae quickly fixed her hair. She checked her appearance and nodded to herself before exiting her bathroom. However, she was not ready for what was on the other side of the door.

“Matt? What are you doing here? You know that you can’t be in my room”, Rae said with a furrowed brow. “I just couldn’t wait, Babygirl”, he said as he walked towards her. “Matt, we should go back to the party”, Rae said as she started to walk for her door. But Matt suddenly grabbed her wrist and jerked her to make her stand in front of him. “I was actually thinking that we have our own party. Right here. In your room. Just the two of us”, Matt murmured as he stepped closer to Rae. “Matt… I really think that we should join the others”, Rae replied as she started to feel uncomfortable. “No, I don’t think so”, Matt commented as he subtly grinded against Rae.

It was then that she felt his hardened member under his jeans. Her eyes widened as she realized what he wanted. She looked up at him in fear as she was virgin, and he knew it. But clearly, he had plans to claim it.

“No!”, Rae cried as she pulled her wrist free for Matt’s hold and pushed him away. Rae immediately turned around and ran for her door. But as soon as she opened it, Matt slammed it shut with his hand. Rae cowered away in fear as Matt loomed over her with an unreadable expression. “You’re not going anywhere”, he growled as he locked the door.

Rae then sprinted to get away from him, hoping he would move from the door. He did move away from the door but easy tracked her movements with his eyes and body. She tried to dodge him but unfortunately, he did catch her and wrapped his arms around her.

“Don’t make this difficult. Just relax and surrender to me”, Matt growled in her ear. “No!”, she cried as she tried to kick her way out of his hold. But it didn’t seem to faze Matt as he walked towards Rae queen sized bed. He then easily tossed onto the bed and held her down as she tried to get up. “Stay!”, he commanded. “No!”, she repeated.

Matt then took off his belt and tied her wrist to the iron headboard. Rae continued to cry and thrash about but it was no use. Once he secured his belt, Matt ripped Rae’s shirt completely open to reveal her bra clad breasts. He took the opportunity to ‘caress’ them, which made Rae cry out in pain. Matt then moved down to undo her jeans to pull them and her panties off.

“Matt, please stop”, Rae cried, praying that Matt wouldn’t go any further. “You were always going to be mine, Rae. It was just a moment of when”, he murmured as he got up from the bed and started to undress.

Rae closed her eyes tightly and turned her head. She tried to imagine that what was about to happen was not happening. Unfortunately, she felt the bed dip as Matt climbed back on. Rae kicked tat him to hopefully fight him off, but he easy caught her legs and situated himself in between her legs.

“Don’t worry, Babygirl. It will only hurt a little bit. I promise”, Matt whispered as he wiped a tear off Rae’s cheek. Rae cried even harder as she felt Matt rub his member against her folds to lubricate himself. She braced herself when she felt his tip at her entrance and screamed at the top of her lungs to hopefully get someone’s attention. Matt immediately slapped her to shut her up but unbeknownst to him, Rae’s plan worked.

Because the next thing he knew, Graham busted down the door and ran into Rae’s room. It only had to be a split second for Graham to realize what the hell was going on. Seeing his friend in such a vulnerable state, made his blood boil and instantly made him attack Matt. It didn’t matter what Matt did or said, because Graham went at him with everything he had. Which is how Matt was knocked out on Rae’s floor while Graham untied her from her bed.

“It’s ok. I’ve got you”, Graham whispered as he rolled her up in a blanket before picking her up and carrying her to his room. But right as Graham laid her down on his bed, a sudden alarm made its presence known.

Rae jerked awake at the sound of her alarm. Groaning that she had to relive that moment again in her sleep, she rolled over to Grace rubbing her eyes to help her wake up. Both girls shared a knowing nod and got up to get ready for what was going to happen that day. Once they were ready for the day, they met up with their families for breakfast before heading for the next section of the race.

Through Georgia and South Carolina, all the teams had stayed together. However, in North Carolina, they started to spread out. Even the first three families had distance between each other. The Locke sisters took the lead, followed by the Holmes’s kids, then the Travers brothers. Rae noticed in the rearview mirror that Graham was gaining on them. She really didn’t mind that it was them, but Darren also noticed and just rolled his eyes as their friends came up to them. Meanwhile, Graham had just gotten close to Rae when in the corner of his eye he saw something. Looking in his side mirror, he saw Matt catching up to him. Will also looked and then asked, “What exactly did you do to piss him off?” Graham turned his head to look at his brother, “Nothing that he didn’t deserve.” Will just shook head and raised his hands up like he didn’t want to know.
