CHAPTER FIVELumina resumed her old routine of spying on her father and reporting back to the rebels. A few days after she arrived back at the palace, she was formally introduced to the wealthy foreigners the king had met with the day she’d returned.
“Crown Princess, this is Grand Prince Laddiv from the Empire of Avadier,” her father said.
Lumina curtsied despite her clenching stomach.
Her father continued. “They are here to negotiate trade deals.”
Trade deals? Lumina thought. So, he’s not going to broach the topic of my rumoured engagement to the grand prince just yet.
“Your Highness.” The grand prince bowed to her. He was the handsome one she’d noticed yesterday—his black hair was neat and his blue eyes sparkled. “I see the rumours of your beauty were not exaggerated.”
