The days passed quickly. Exactly two weeks had gone by since Javier had reconstructed Veronica's face. Today, they would finally remove the bandages that had been protecting her new face. Both Javier and Veronica were filled with anxiety. Javier was nervous because he longed to see the face of his late wife, Luna, once more and hoped that the surgery had gone perfectly. Veronica, on the other hand, was anxious about the new chapter of her life. Javier’s hands trembled as he slowly unwrapped the bandages from Veronica's face. Jordan and Nick were also present in the small clinic, watching intently. The two observers were practically holding their breath, anxious about whether Javier’s surgery had been successful. It had been a long time since Javier had last performed an operation, and he had been deeply saddened by his wife’s death, so they were unsure if his passion for facial reconstruction was still intact. Veronica’s eyes were tightly shut. As Javier removed the final layer of bandage, he took a deep breath, praying that he had done everything perfectly. When her entire face was finally revealed, Javier nearly collapsed from shock. Because the woman before him now was none other than his Luna... Beatrice! He could see how Nick and Jordan’s jaws dropped in disbelief behind him. Veronica appeared tense, so Javier didn’t prolong her anxiety any further. He grabbed a small mirror from the table and placed it in her hand. "You can open your eyes now, Veronica," he said calmly. There was a bit of fear within him because he hadn’t shown Veronica any photos of Beatrice. She had fully trusted him to change her appearance in this second life. But he hoped that Veronica would like Beatrice's face. Veronica was praying fervently, her heart pounding so hard it felt like it would burst out of her chest. She was overwhelmed with a mix of emotions that she couldn’t even explain. When she heard Javier's voice instructing her to open her eyes, she felt as though they were glued shut, making it difficult for her to open them. She knew her eyes were open, but all she could see was blinding light. It felt as though she was in heaven because the light was so intense it hurt her eyes. “Why can’t I see anything? It’s just all light?” she asked the man, fear creeping into her voice. Had she been in an accident during surgery, and now she had lost her sight? What would be the point of her revenge if she was blind? She felt the warm palm of Javier gently rubbing her back, comforting her. “Don’t worry. Just blink your eyes repeatedly. You’re still adjusting to the light because you haven’t used your eyes for several weeks and have only seen darkness. Just relax…” She chose to believe him. She followed his instructions. She relaxed her eyes and blinked several times. She kept opening and closing her eyes, and after a few minutes, the intense light slowly began to take on different colors and figures. She saw Javier in front of her, smiling. “I guess your sight is back now. Take a look at yourself.” She swallowed hard. This was the moment of judgment. With trembling hands, she brought the small mirror closer to her face. A sharp gasp escaped her lips when she saw her reflection. A… beautiful woman was staring back at her! Oh my God, is this really Javier's wife’s face? She couldn’t believe it. Beatrice Romanov was stunning. She looked like a queen from a royal bloodline, with an aristocratic appearance and elegant beauty. Without thinking, she touched her own cheek, feeling if this was all real. “W-What do you think, Veronica?” Javier asked nervously. “I-Is it okay?” She looked at him as if she were going mad. “Okay? You gotta be kidding me. s**t, your wife was absolutely gorgeous, Javier! Ms. Beatrice was stunning… and now, I’m beautiful too…” She became emotional, and warm tears began to fall from her eyes. Javier was alarmed. “W-What’s wrong?” She couldn’t hold back anymore. She got up from the clinic bed and hugged him tightly—a hug full of gratitude, without any malice. “T-Thank you so much, Javier. Thank you for all your help. You’ve given me a second chance at life. You made me beautiful… I… I’ve never been this beautiful before. It’s different when you’re truly beautiful,” her voice quivered. His face softened, and he returned her embrace. “Thank you as well, because of you, I had the chance to see my late Luna again.” Jordan and Nick looked at them with smiles on their faces. After a while, she let go of the hug. He patted her shoulder. “Finish this day with an entire rest so you can recover. Because tomorrow, we have somewhere important to go.” “Where? And what’s so important?” “That face is not enough. You need to fully become Beatrice.” What did he mean by that? She felt nervous yet excited!
