Chapter 3, Who I am, really

As they sat in a booth in the White Rose restaurant. All they were doing was looking at each other for the longest time. Until Eva broke the silence, “I know you have many questions, I bet. And I will more likely answer them. So let’s begin”, Eva said, with her elbows on the table.

Blossom nodded her head at her sister. “I want to know why mom would hide me from you guys”, Blossom said, leaning back in the booth. “We are not really sure. But we think it is because she wanted you to have a normal life. Your mom went through a lot of stuff. She lost a lot of people that no one should have to go through. Loved ones and friends were the most things she lost”, Eva said, looking down at her hands.

“What do you mean she has lost people? Who has she lost”, Blossom said, looking worried. Eva was not sure if she should be the one to tell her. “Blossom, your mom lost her mom when you were born. We are not sure if she knew about it or if she ever got our letter or even our messages”, Eva said. Blossom was not sure what to say. “OK, I am sorry for that. Who died that she loved”, Blossom said, waiting to see what she would say. “She lost a lot of family along the way. She loves everyone the same”.

You see, your father was not always the best man. But eventually, he changed and became a better man. When he eventually found your mom, he at first never showed his love for his luna. He never really wanted one, but when your mom left, he changed. He realized he needed her more than he wanted to admit to himself. We think your mom ran away because of your father. We think she thought that he would never change when she found out she was going to have you. She told her parents, but she never told your father”, Eva said, with a sigh. “Wait, what is a luna? And why are you making it sound like my father was the devil”, Blossom said, raising her brows at her?

Eva was surprised by this question. “Blossom, what has your mother really told you”, Eva said, she needed to know before she went on. “Mom never really did talk about her past. She never really told me anything other than I was a special girl”, Blossom said, leaning forward and putting her arms on the table. “That is what I thought. Blossom, you are not a normal human. I am guessing that since you were not with your kind you never got your full powers”, Eva said, shaking her head a little bit. “What does all that mean”, Blossom said, not understanding.

Eva gave it a minute, then she took a breath. “I know this may sound weird and untrue. But I can assure you it is all very true. Blossom, you come from a long line of werewolves. In our world, luna means queen or leader. Once you turn 18, you will find your MATE. Your mate is the loved one that you will spend the rest of your life with. Blossom, I come to you now, because you have no idea who you are and if you don't know how to control it, you could hurt someone or hurt yourself. I would like to take you home. So you are around your own kind”, Eva said, with a small smile on her face.

Blossom was not sure what to say. Blossom was not sure if she really heard Eva right. She also was not sure if it was all true about her being a werewolf. But Blossom also felt like she was missing something. She never did feel like she fit in anywhere. “Blossom, If it is ok, and you think you are ready to see it for yourself, I would like to bring you to meet your real family”, Eva said, then took a sip of her drink. Blossom thought about it for a minute. Then she looked back at Eva and told her. “Ok, when will we do this”, she said. “We can do it anytime you feel like you are ready. It is up to you if you want to meet the rest of your family”, Eva said, happy that she really did want to do it.

Blossom was thinking about what she was going to tell her other father. Her not dad. Should she tell him the truth or should she say she is hanging out with friends? She was not sure what to do about that. But she does know that her dad will find out at some point. Maybe after she learns about the family and gets her so-called wolf. If she really is one. Then she might talk to him about it. Tomorrow after she wakes up and gets dressed she will go with Eva to see the rest of the family and see if all of it was true...
