Dark Secrets
It took me an entire week to read the book Hans leant to me. Titled Niofirgeban, or The Unforgiven, the entire book had been written in Teutonica. It described the final years of the Saxon conquest and Prince Otto von Bayern’s breakdown in 1074. Mainly focusing on history, I found it an intriguing though difficult read. At the very end, several pages were devoted to the creation and powers of the Torstein, and once I found the phrases marked by Hans, I copied them down into a Microsoft Word document and spent most of my free hours practicing them. I concentrated on the words necessary to return, for I figured that it would be worse to go back in time and end up stuck there than to not be able to go back in the first place.
