I had mentally prepared myself for Alina's transformation, but seeing her groaning in pain shattered me. The first transformation of a werewolf is usually accompanied by intense pain, but this... this was far worse. The abrupt halt in her transformation made her agony unimaginable. My heart broke and I felt completely helpless since I could only watch her suffer.
