As I ran through the maze-like alley, my heart pounded in my chest. The encounter with Tanya had left me shaken, but I couldn't let my guard down. Just as I turned around a corner, I ran straight into Lucas.
"Alina? What are you doing here?" Lucas asked, his brow furrowing in concern.
I forced a smile, trying to hide the turmoil inside me. I did not want to involve him in my problems. "I was looking for Juliet and got lost. Can you point me in the right direction?"
