Chapter 3: The Luna's First Night The grand doors of the Alpha's mansion opened, revealing a magnificent hall decorated with silver chandeliers and ancient wolf symbols carved into the walls. Anna stood frozen at the entrance, overwhelmed by the luxury surrounding her. Just yesterday, she had been an ordinary country girl. Now, she was the Luna of the most powerful werewolf family. Richard gently placed a hand on the small of her back. "Welcome home," he said softly. Anna forced a smile, though her heart raced. "It still doesn't feel real." "It will," Richard assured her. "Give it time." As they stepped inside, dozens of pack members bowed respectfully. "Welcome, Luna!" Their voices echoed through the hall. Anna awkwardly nodded. She wasn't used to people treating her like royalty. Just then, a woman dressed in a dark crimson gown stepped forward. Her beauty was striking, but the coldness in her eyes sent chills down Anna's spine. "I am Victoria," she introduced herself with a fake smile. "Richard's cousin." "It's nice to meet you," Anna replied politely. Victoria looked Anna up and down before smirking. "So... this is the human who captured our Alpha's heart." The room fell silent. Richard's expression hardened. "Victoria," he warned. She simply shrugged. "I'm only stating the obvious." Anna lowered her gaze, trying not to let the words hurt her. Richard stepped closer to Anna. "Whether she's human or not, she is my Luna. Anyone who disrespects her disrespects me." The pack immediately lowered their heads. Victoria clenched her fists but forced another smile. "My apologies, Alpha." She turned and walked away, though hatred burned in her eyes. Later that evening... Anna stood alone on the mansion's balcony, staring at the full moon hanging in the night sky. Everything had happened so quickly. She missed her simple life. She missed the quiet countryside. A warm coat was gently placed over her shoulders. Richard. "You've been quiet." "I don't know if I belong here," Anna admitted. He looked into her eyes. "When I found you that night... my wolf recognized you instantly." Anna frowned. "What does that mean?" "It means you're my true mate." Before she could respond, a loud howl echoed through the forest. Then another. Then dozens more. Richard's face immediately darkened. "Something's wrong." A warrior rushed into the courtyard, covered in blood. "Alpha!" Richard hurried downstairs. "What happened?" "The eastern border has been attacked!" "By who?" The warrior struggled to breathe. "They... they're not rogues." "They're wearing our pack's symbol." Richard's eyes widened. "A traitor..." Far away in the shadows of the forest, a hooded figure watched the mansion with glowing red eyes. "The game has begun." To be continued...
