POV: Samira James The walk back to the clearing felt like navigating through a dream. My boots felt lighter against the dirt and the cold mountain air no longer bit at my skin. Beside me, Calvin moved with his usual quiet certainty, but the distance between us had narrowed to nothing. Every few steps, his hand would brush against mine, a lingering contact that served as a tether to what had just happened by the stream.
