Josie's POV I sat through the first period trying to focus on the symbolism in a poem I didn't care about, but my thoughts kept looping back to that brush of shoulders. It was annoying. It was entirely unnecessary. It wasn't actually happening. I tapped my pen against the margin of my notebook, forcing myself to write something, anything, to stay grounded in reality. "Miss James."
