While child abuse and bullying have been getting a lot of attention in recent years, and rightly so, sibling abuse is often swept under the rug with excuses of ‘but that’s your sister,’ or ‘but, family.’ The trouble is that allowing oneself to be bullied by siblings or by trying to enforce sibling relationships in the face of obvious toxicity does no one any favors.
