I woke up to a terrible smell. Something disgusting was hovering under my nose. I groaned and waved it away. “What the hell is that?” I heard a soft chuckle. “Smelling salts,” an unfamiliar voice stated. “It’s an old-fashioned treatment, but it works. How are you feeling, Miss Miller?” “My head hurts,” I replied, and I could hear the whine in my voice. “Nurse, please get Miss Miller some Aspirin.” Shoes swished away. “You took a pretty bad knock to the head,” the unfamiliar voice stated. “I don’t think you have a concussion, but I decided to check you out anyway.” He sounds like a doctor.
