“Need some help?”
Julia turned from her trunk, where she’d just set a box at her feet and had been reaching for another. Janey stood there, and Julia’s heartbeat stabbed at her as her eyes took in the woman before her.
She’d cut her hair into a deep, rich, black pixie style. She wore huge silver hoops in her ears and her signature flowing blouse in bright red, orange, yellow, and blue flowers. She’d paired that with a pair of black leggings, and she looked like a million bucks.
“Janey.” Julia abandoned her task in the truck and practically dove at her half-sister. With the other woman held tightly in her arms, Julia said, “You look so good. How are you feeling?”
“Really good.” Janey gripped her back, and her grip said more than words could.
“How’s your daughter?”
“Engaged,” Janey sai
