Chapter 15: The warning

823 Words
Nadia’s POV “Let this be a warning. If any one of you dares to target her again, it won’t be just an arm you lose.” Lorenzo’s voice finally pulls me out of my daze and back to reality. I glance up at him, my entire body trembling as I take instinctive steps backward. “Let’s go.” he commands, but I couldn’t move. My legs feel heavy like lead and I stand rooted to the spot. Lorenzo stops on his tracks and glances at me, and without any other word, he lifts me and throws me over his broad shoulders. The impact steals breath from my lungs as the stench of blood on his skin wafts into my nose, making my stomach churn. We get to the car and he shoves me inside, climbing in right behind me. He slams the door shut and immediately starts shifting toward me. I keep moving until my back hits the opposite door, but he closes the distance between us, crowding my space. Before i can protest, he crashes his lips down on mine in a hard, burning and demanding kiss. My eyes snap wide open, my breath hitches as his tongue forces its way past my teeth. I begin slamming my fists on his chest, trying to push him away but I doesn’t budge. He finally breaks the kiss after a moment and stares down at me with a hard expression on his face. My body trembles so bad I can barely breathe. “We will get rid of this phobia,” he says, caressing my face with his blood stained fingers. “So you better prepare, because I’ll be touching you more often from now on.” Air leaves my lungs instantly. what does that mean? “N… I… I can’t, please…” I stutter, trying to catch my breath. “Oh, you will. And you must,” he purrs and shoves me away roughly as if my presence suddenly begins to irritate him. I suck in air immediately and keep my distance from him. The driver steps on the pedal and we drive into the night. The ride to the estate is a silent one. When we arrive, Lorenzo steps out of the car and walks away without sparing me another glance. Clara rushes out of the mansion doors immediately she sights me. My legs wobble the moment I step out of the car but Clara is fast to grab my arm and hold me still. “You are shaking, ma’am!” she shrieks. I let out a soft, bitter laugh and smile at her. “Just help me inside,” I whisper. The moment I enter my suite, I rush into the bathroom. Peeling off every piece of damp clothing on my body, I step into the tub already filled with warm, soapy water. I sigh deeply as the tears I’ve been holding in finally starts streaming down. Alex got what he deserved, but it still doesn’t wash away the pain of those horrible experiences. Now Lorenzo vows to get rid of this horrible phobia with his touch. Can I really survive his touch? Just his kisses has this terrible effect on me. What do I do? I’m tired. I honestly don’t want this kind of life. I want to be free. Free from all of this. I stay in the tub letting my tears flow freely until I eventually fall asleep in the tub. Clara’s voice snaps me awake and I noticed I am still in the tub. “You fell asleep while taking a bath, ma’am,” she explains. I look at her and nod then I step out of the tub and drape a plush towel around my body before walking into the room. I head straight to the closet and put on a silk nightwear. “Would you like me to bring dinner over, ma’am?” Clara asks. “No Clara. You can go and rest now, I’ll just go to bed. Thank you.” I smile at her, she nods and exists the room. I walk to the bed and throw myself on it. My hand reaches out to the golden bracelet on my left wrist as thoughts of my parents suddenly fills my mind. Taking a deep, frustrated sigh, I shut my eyes and fall asleep. *************************** The sweet scent of pancakes wafts into my nostrils, waking me up. My stomach growls, and I clutch it, rubbing my palms on it. Throwing off the covers, I walk into the bathroom to brush my teeth quickly. Once i finished brushing, I walk to the door, swing it open and step into the hallway. Taking the grand stairs, I walk straight to the dining hall. The table is already laden with several delicases. I walk in, and the maids surprisingly bow to me. I freeze, stunned as I stare at them. “You are up early.”
