Finding my spirit animal

406 Words
Alexis I stood in front of the huge painting of the silver wolf for hours and decided to go for a walk in the nearby woods to get some fresh air. It was already dark and the excuses for my mom were getting weirder and weirder, which means that I will have to leave sooner or later and get things straight with my mother. Thinking about all the crazy things that happened I didn’t pay any attention to my surroundings and found myself lost in the woods. Nature has a calming effect on me, I took a few deep breaths and closed my eyes. The ground was wet, and the trees smelled so good. I was lost in my thoughts when I lost my footing and tumbled down a slope. All became black. I opened ma eyes and saw the tree trunks around me. Something felt off. The colors were all so vibrant. The leaves had beautiful green and orange colors and the smells were so intense. I could sense every little creature around me, and a grey rabbit with hazel eyes caught my eye. It looked at me with fear in its eyes and tried to run away but I was faster, a lot faster. I wasn’t even able to register my actions until it was too late, and I felt the hot blood in my mouth. It was so delicious and smelled wonderfully like earth and grass. Then I felt the panic rise inside of me. Oh my gosh what have I done? I asked myself. Something is horribly wrong here. I needed to find Dereck and explain what had happened. I ran as fast as my legs could carry me, something inside of me knew the way back to the sanctuary and I decided to follow my instincts on this one. It took me only a few minutes before I reached the clearing which led to the backdoor of the training’s hall. The door was open and as I entered, I sensed the strong smell of sweat and even blood in the gym. It was a disgustingly strong smell and I decided to leave the hall. As I reached the dinning hall all eyes were on me. Dereck jumped up and his face looked fascinated, but he was wary at the same time.   “Keep calm Alexis, everything is okay”, he started saying. “Hell no, nothing is okay” I wanted to answer but only a whiny sound left my throat.
