fled like a mad woman.
'Cause I knew if I didn't, I'd be a corpse in the next two days.
I went to my room and started packing the little necessities I could carry. I didn't know where I was going. All I knew was that I needed to leave here and lay low.
While I was packing, a maid came in to check on me. When she saw me, she asked what I was doing. I said I was just arranging my clothes. Said it casually.
Little did I know, she was an ally. The one who always informed them about my movements.
When I was done, I grabbed my bag. I stepped out of the room looking like a thief afraid of getting caught.
I'm not the type to run from danger, but this time I did. Because I knew I was outnumbered, and I had no one to stand for me.
Luckily, the hallway was empty. It didn't even cross my mind that something was wrong. I was just bent on leaving.
The whole perimeter was cleared. It seemed like everyone had vacated outside. I didn't think twice. I ran to the secret tunnel. Only my father and I knew about it. Or so I thought.
When I got there, I tried to relax. After all, I was already out. But I kept my senses sharp.
And that was when I saw them. Wolves. In front of me. Not daring to move, ears high, eyes locked. Waiting for the signal to devour me.
I knew I was surrounded. But I seized the chance. I pretended to surrender, hoping they'd loosen their guard.
The moment they did, I shifted. Fast.
Araca - my wolf - made it easier.
In less than a second I was a white-silver wolf, bolting before they even realized what happened. I hit the forest floor with a speed I didn't know I had. Even I was shocked.
I didn't stop. Didn't look back.
'Cause I knew they were after me now, matching my speed.
I can't get caught.
The words kept echoing in my head: _As long as there's life, there's hope. And as long as there's life for me, there's a revenge plan coming._
I ran until I hit a cliff. I skidded to a stop just before falling.
The wolves chasing me halted too. They parted like their master had arrived.
And lucky for me, I knew who it was.
My mate. Or should I say, my ex-mate.
I stumbled. Not from fear, but from the crashing weight of betrayal.
He stood at a distance. So I shifted back. I wanted him to see me face to face. To say to my face what he said in that office.
My shift was fluid, fast. My skin came into view. I stood tall, despite the pain. No more acting weak. Never again. Not in front of him. Not in front of anyone.
He beat me to it. And laughed.
"Haha. What were you thinking, Aurora? That you could escape me? I'd give you a clap for outsmarting me, but I have to thank my sweet Diana for the info."
- _Ronald._
I wasn't shocked. Just pained.
I trusted her with my life. I saw her as a sister.
"I can't believe you, Ronaldo. Everything was a lie. Everyone worked for you. And you... you planned to kill me? Your mate. Your other half. For the throne. I gave you the throne. What else did you want? I gave you my heart, my love, my time... and what did I get in return? Betrayal."
"Aurora, you were never the problem. Until you became the problem. I don't need another Alpha ruling beside me. You were stubborn. Uncontrollable. You made me feel caged. Then I met your best friend, Laura. She never questioned me. Always did what I asked.
And then came the perfect idea: exterminating you from the picture. I knew it would hurt, so I decided to deny the mate bond." I felt betrayed hearing my child hood bestfriend was involved in this too . My life and friendship had all been a lie . Whatever the case is I will accept anything he does even if I know the consequences of it.
He stepped forward.
"I, Acting Alpha Ronaldo of the Red Moon Pack, reject you, Aurora Camiela, as my mate and Luna. I hereby disconnect you from the pack and everything that binds it."
He laughed. Mockery dripping from every word.
I stood there motionless as the bond snapped. Burning pain tore through my chest. Like my heart was being ripped out.
I knew I had to accept it. If I didn't, the pain would kill me before they could.
I fell to my knees, shaking, crying. But I pulled myself up.
No more. I'd bear every pain and make them regret every single thing.
Staggering, I stood.
"I, Aurora Camiela, reject you, Acting Alpha Ronaldo, as my mate and my Alpha. I hereby disconnect myself from anything that involves you and your pack."
I looked at him. Then at the moon.
In that instant, the thread between us snapped. Like scissors cutting through fate.
The pain was unbearable. And when I looked at him, I saw it - he was fighting the same pain.
I smiled.
"Guards! Take her and lock her in the dungeon!" he roared.
But they didn't know I had other plans.
Better to die than be taken hostage.
So I jumped.
Off the cliff.
Their shock was the last thing I saw.
I thought I would die. But I didn't.
That's how I ended up here. With my dad's most trusted ally - our former beta, the one they called ill and incompetent.
He said he found me on the outskirts of the Twilight Pack while traveling. He never settled in one pack.
We've been on the run for three months. Cause the entire wolf pack under the wolf realm are searching for us but they didn't know we where closer than they thought .
