I let out a piercing scream, loud enough to shatter glass. I felt my magic surge through my body and blast out as I screamed. My power shot out, knocking Alex to the ground, and causing the trees around us to turn to ash.
Eventually, my screaming came to a halt. My throat throbbed in pain and my voice become hoarse. I felt numb to everything, but the heavy weight of Will's dead body in my arms was enough to bring me back to reality.
A pair of strong arms wrapped around my body, pulling me away from my best friend. I cried and I thrashed around as best as I could. I wanted to be with him. Dead or not, Will needed me.
