Chapter 9 The next morning felt electric. Apart from a slight hangover—her first—Ken had to admit that she and her whole town had a pretty damn good night. They enjoyed themselves. No one died, for any reason. No one even got hurt. Despite all the drinking, careless hookups, and dancing near fire, the worst complaint anyone had was that the town didn’t put on a festival sooner. Once they recovered from their headaches, they wanted to start planning one for late summer. Ken rummaged in the kitchen for a bottle of Over-the-counter painkillers.
