An unsure look crossed Vivian's facial features as she stared back at those waiting for her response. Ralph just mopped out a chance for her to get a slice of her revenge against her ex - husband.
"In as much as I don't want to see your face, I feel like we should hear what he has to say." She struck a glance at Ralph, "How about we schedule a ten minutes meeting?" A sly smile appeared on her face.
Charles was flabbergasted as he stared at Vivian in anger. How dare she stomp on him with disrespect like this? Ten minutes meeting? What is he? Someone who wants to have a cheap interview?
"Vivian, I can't believe --" He was about to say but Ralph cut him off immediately.
"My beautiful wife has spoken and it is my obligation to follow whatever she says." Ralph flashed his wife a cute smile. "Come on, Charles, ten minutes should be enough for you to say whatever you want to say." He added.
Charles contorted face gave away how much anger he was feeling. "Yes but --" He was cut off again.
"You should make sure to convince me if you don't want to get kicked out before the ten minutes is over." Vivian smirked, enjoying the drama.
She couldn't appreciate Ralph less for this kind of opportunity. Her ex-husband has always found every chance delightful to stomp on her like she meant nothing and now, things have changed. It is her turn and he must dance to whatever music she plays.
"Let's dance, my love." Ralph took her hands and placed a soft kiss on it before leading her away from them. Vivian didn't fail to flash her innocent smile at the enraged Charles and his mistress. Oh, how she loved the look on their faces.
She was led to the dancing floor. Ralph's hands got wrapped around her waist softly as he helped place her own hands on his shoulders.
The low music began. Their bodies moved in rhythm. Vivian felt her tense self giving away and she gradually relaxed in Ralph's hands. She couldn't believe she is married to her ex-lover just because she wants revenge on her ex-husband.
In the end, it will be worth it because she will make sure Charles becomes miserable, much worse than he had always made her feel.
"What are you so engrossed thinking about?" Ralph's voice pulled her away from her trapped thoughts. She looked at from beneath her lashes.
The man looked really beautiful under the golden lights. His suit was well tailored and his hair style was perfect. How is it possible that she is just noticing his uniqueness? It's been so many years. He has really changed.
Vivian took her gaze off him and chuckled, "Nothing much. I just can't get it out of my head." She glanced at him again, "I mean, Charles...." She shrugged, completing the statement.
"I didn't expect you were going to be merciful but the ten minutes will do. Its a nice move." Ralph said and she smiled. Was that supposed to be a compliment? Did he just appraise her that she did a good job?
The music and dance continued. Vivian could feel some intense gazes on her back and she turned. Charles and Franca were also on the dance floor but his eyes were on her.
"I want you to ignore him. You should focus on me." Ralph yanked her slowly towards himself and her hands got plastered on his chest.
Vivian could feel her heart accelerating, beating loudly. What is going on? She stared at the man - god in front of her and blinked. "What -- are you doing?" She stuttered, a hint of fear in her voice.
Ralph was leaning into her small frame that was incomparable to his. They haven't been this close in body contact before and she could feel the whole of her body coming alive while in front of her ex-lover. Is this supposed to be normal?
"Don't be so frozen. I expect you should play along." Ralph's seducing voice pentrated into her muddle thoughts. Before she could respond, she felt him slam his lips on hers.
Her brain stopped working for some seconds. The only thing on her mind was how Ralph moved his lips on hers. Goodness! Those lips feel so soft and they tasted like -- raspberry. That must be the taste of the wine he had earlier.
'Play along' Vivian snapped out of it. Those were Ralph's words. Then, she remembered Charles had been staring at her. Maybe this was her chance to pay him back too, just like she has always felt.
She wrapped her hands around Ralph's neck and pulled him closer with his tie, kissing him back. Ralph grunted into her mouth, taking control.
Without a care in the world of those watching them, it was just Ralph and Vivian kissing like they couldn't get enough of each other under the lights on the dance floor.
'I want my man to kiss me like that.'
'It looks so controlling.'
'He handled her perfectly well.'
'They should get a room!' Words flew around.
Ralph pulled away after some minutes, "We seemed to have forgotten we are not alone." He whispered, touching her lower lip as she sucked on it.
Vivian blinked and took a glance around. Most of the people's eyes were on them. She felt a rush of heat creeping up her cheeks. She couldn't believe she just had a mond blowing kiss.
"I see. You couldn't hide your slutty attitude in front of so many people." Franca hissed loudly with disdain, "No wonder Charles couldn't put up with you."
Vivian swelled in anger. If a slut should be recognised in the midst of others, it is definitely this stupid lady who took her home away from her. She slept with her husband and had the nerve to bring a baby bump into my marriage.
"For the record, maybe I should remind you who the slut is here." Vivian tainted. How she wants to rip this woman's hair off! What delight do they see in taking away people's husbands?
Franca huffed in annoyance, rubbing her stomach slightly. "No matter what you say, it can't change the fact that you were pushed out of your marriage. It is not my fault Charles never loved you."
"A divorcee getting married to a divorcee all because of a baby bump. Are you two not miserable enough together?" Vivian said with a hint of mockery.
Franca stomped her foot on the ground angrily. She knew very well what Vivian was talking about. She also divorced her husband because she cheated on him with Charles. Charles divorced Vivian just to be with her which means they are both divorcees.
"You will not talk to my wife that way or else!" Charles threatened with his fingers pointed angrily at Vivian. He hated her guts. When did Vivian become like this?
Vivian stared at them with an unfazed stare. Gone are the days when she is always afraid of her ex-husband's anger. She never wanted him to get angry at her so she always does whatever he wanted but not anymore.
"Sweetheart?" Vivian called with a smile and Ralph stood beside her. "I think we should cancel the ten minutes meeting. We have other important things to do." She leaned into him, hooking her arms with his.
"No problem, my love. Your wish is my command." Ralph said and led his wife out, not without dropping a quick wink at Charles who was boiling in anger.
