Emerald rushed to the theatre booth, anxious about being late. The vendor's smile alleviated her worry.
"You're lucky there's only one ticket left," he said. She suddenly took a sigh of relief.
Emerald paid and hurried away, weaving through the theatre aisle. Suddenly, she heard her name.
"Emer," Zarin's voice called out.
She spotted him sitting with Gabi and Zain, an empty seat beside him.
"I reserved a seat for you," he said, smiling.
"Thank you," Emerald replied, sitting down.
Zarin took her hand, squeezing it gently. She rested her head on his shoulder, making him smile.
Gabi asked, "Why did you arrive late?"
Emerald answered blandly, "I weaved my hair before coming."
Gabi nodded sympathetically. "You always look lovely, Emer."
Emerald smiled, appreciating Gabi's kind words.
Just then, the show began. A lady in a creamy long dress sang with an extraordinary voice. Emerald was captivated, singing being her hobby.
As the performance ended, the audience scrambled for the exit, chattering excitedly.
"Do you want to eat anything?" Zarin asked Emerald.
She nodded, and they informed Zain and Gabi before leaving.
Outside, the moon shone brightly. Evening shows usually ended by eight.
"There's no need to ask if you enjoyed the show; it's your favorite," Zarin said, smiling.
"Of course it is," Emerald replied.
They strolled to a nearby popcorn stall. Emerald loved Mrs. Crabstree's sweet and milky popcorn.
"After buying popcorn for themselves and their friends, Zarin asked, "Would you like beef steak?"
Emerald's eyes sparkled. "Yes."
As they walked slowly, munching on their snacks, Zarin requested, "Sing for me."
Emerald grinned. "Nope."
"Please," he insisted, his voice melting her.
"Which song?" she asked.
"The normal song," he replied, his eyes locked on hers.
They paused, and Emerald teased, "Why not sing it for me?"
Zarin's gaze intensified before he pulled her into his arms. His lips pressed against hers, and he kissed her hungrily.
Emerald's heart raced, her senses overwhelmed by Zarin's passion.
As they broke apart, gasping for air, Emerald smiled.
"I love you," Zarin whispered.
"I love you too," Emerald replied, her voice barely audible.
Their lips met again, the night air surrounding them with magic.
As they walked further, hand in hand, Emerald felt grateful for Zarin's presence in her life.
"You make me happy, Zarin," she said.
Zarin's eyes sparkled. "You make me happy too, Emer."
Their love was blossoming, and Emerald knew she had found her soulmate.
But little did she know, challenges lay ahead, testing their love and commitment.
As they approached the park, Zain and Gabi caught up with them.
"Enjoying the night?" Zain asked.
Emerald smiled. "Yes."
Gabi nodded. "We should do this more often."
Zarin agreed. "Definitely."
The group sat on a bench, watching the stars twinkle above.
But as the night wore on, Emerald's thoughts drifted to Julie's words earlier that day.
"Emer, be careful around Zain. He's not what he seems."
Emerald pushed the thought aside, focusing on Zarin's gentle grasp.
Little did she know, Julie's warning would soon become a reality.
