Chapter 10: Mandy Rude

" Beep, beep, beep ! ", the sound of the alarm clock crashed the air in the silent room . Emerald sat up from the bed lazily, rubbing her eyes.

" You b***h. You've ruined my nice dream ", she said as though talking to the clock while she peered at it.

" It's 7 am ! ", she jerked up from the bed, hurrying away from the room like a mental patient.

All in a haste,she prepared for school. Shortly, she was in her room, dressing for school. Hurriedly, she put on her uniform.

A blueish white shirt with a black matching tie well knotted, and a black pleated skirt toning with her long raven black hair, cascading down her back. A pair of white long socks with two black stripes on the top was added to support her well polished shoes.

" Emerald, hurry up ! ", Julie's voice came from the drawing room, pushing her to rush every step she makes.

Grabbing her bag, she quickly headed for the door. She didn't have enough time to eat so she had a quick breakfast though she ate little of the food.

" Goodbye, have a nice day ! ", Julie yelled behind her perfunctorily as she left the house in a swift.

Outside, the sun was partly out for the day. The haziness of the sky was gradually moving away.

" No bus ", she murmured when she got to the park. She expected it though. She've been busy last night studying and at last chatting with Zarin. It was nice day.

She suddenly found out she was smiling at the thought of Zarin.

" Foolish girl, hurry to school and stop thinking ", she scolded herself.

Just when she started walking across the road, she heard her name behind." Emerald ! ".

She turned to see Gabi running towards her. She felt relieved. Finally, she don't have to walk to school alone.

She paused her moment so Gabi could catch up with her. When she did, they began to walk along.

" We're late for school ", she said sounding rather excited.

" We are ", I grinned with the same feeling as we rushed to school .

Getting to school, they found out how lucky they were. No punishment today ! What a luck !

Just then, the bell for the first lesson rang. She actually needs to make it in class. Another stressful week, she thought.

Shortly, she was standing in front of her locker , searching the nooks and crannies in a haste. Her physics notebook. Where have she kept it ? She sighed in frustration, still on the search.

She suddenly felt someone brush past her with few slowing steps.

" Looking for this, head girl ", the sound of the ' head girl ' came like a mockery.

It was Mandy. The new role model of the class. Rude and annoying.

She had her physics notebook on her right hand. " How careless. U dropped it during the last class ", a cruel smile touched her lips.

She let the book go, sending it down on the floor harshly. She wasn't alone though. Her girls were behind her.

Emerald frowned. She wished she could punch her so hard on the face.

" Asshole ", a threatening smile formed on her face as she left, banging Emerald's locker so hard.

Emerald stood speechless and annoyed. Does having rich parents and gaining popularity give her the guts to misbehave? How could she?

She've heard much about her rudeness but never wanted to judge a book by it's cover but now, she could see why she was nicknamed ' Mandy Rude '.
