The news hung heavy in the air, enveloping the room in a blanket of stunned silence. I sat frozen in my seat, my mind reeling with disbelief.
Marriage? At my age?
The thought had never even crossed my mind.
I couldn't stop the shock that rippled through my veins as I processed Mrs Watt's words. The rhetorical questions kept on coming into my head in floods and I couldn't even stop them.
A suitor? Already?
I glanced around the room, my eyes searching for answers, but all I found was a mix of anticipation and expectation mirrored in the faces of the two people who have filled in as my parents for as long as I can remember.
The same cannot be said for the triplets anyway. There were no expectant expressions on their faces. They all looked like they had heard the
