Alissia POV He leans even closer, his lips inches from mine. “Basic rules, Nova.” The way he says my pen name sends a jolt through me. “If I tell you to do something, you f*****g do it. No questions, no hesitation. So if I tell you to drop to your f*****g knees, what do you do?” I almost laugh, my fear battling with defiance. “Refuse,” I mutter under my breath, but I’m not sure if I’m joking or if I’m testing him. He groans, and the sound sends a shiver down my spine. His hand tightens around the gun as he presses it harder into my skin. “You drop to your f*****g knees. Say it.” No. Why would I say it? My brain is screaming at me to resist. “That’s not happening,” I argue, but my voice falters. He chuckles darkly and pushes the gun harder. “Then I refuse to help you, and you don’t get what you need. I won’t touch you in that way, Alissia, even if you’re begging me to. That, I can promise you. Now, if I tell you to drop to your knees, what do you do?” I hate this. I hate him. But I can’t stop thinking about what he said. He won’t touch me like that, not even if I ask him to. This is just about control, about seeing if I’ll follow orders. My throat tightens as I force the words out. “Drop to my knees,” I whisper, barely audible. “Then do it.” His voice is commanding, dangerous. “Now, right here. On your knees and don't look up.” My body trembles with a mixture of fear and something else I can’t quite place. My legs feel like they weigh a thousand pounds, but I force myself to move. It takes everything in me to sink down, the dirt beneath me cold and rough against my knees. I feel like I’m betraying myself, my body at war with my mind. As I kneel, the fear twists tighter in my chest. This is it. He’s going to kill me. That has to be what’s coming next. He stands over me, his shadow long and menacing, his voice cold and mocking. “Now, why haven’t you deleted the post?” Oh f**k. My mouth opens, words escaping before I can stop them. “I tried. It wouldn’t let me delete it. I tried again and again,” I whisper, hoping he believes me. It’s not a lie. I tried last night, over and over, and it kept giving me an error. He hums, his eyes narrowing. “Hmm. Then someone wants you noticed and isn’t willing to let you hide. I’ll sort it.” His voice is calm, calculating. “Tonight. Seven. A car will come to collect you. Be ready. If you’re late, you’re punished.” Punished? I glance up, confusion and fear mixing together. “Did I say look up?” His voice snaps, and I instantly drop my gaze, clenching my teeth. Asshole. Control freak. The words scream inside my head. “Tonight. Seven, Alissia.” His voice softens, sending another shiver through me. “See you then.” I wait, frozen in place, but there’s no sound. Slowly, I lift my head, and he’s gone. Shit. That was intense. I scramble to my feet, my heart still pounding in my chest. As I turn and rush out of the darkness, my legs feel weak, my mind spinning. When I finally make it to the street, the warmth of the city’s lights washes over me, making me feel safer. But safety is an illusion. Tonight, it begins for real. That was only one. I still have to meet two more. The thought makes my head spin as I rush home, my heart pounding from everything that just happened. As soon as I step inside, Jenni looks up from the couch, her eyes widening in shock when she sees me. “s**t, are you okay?” She’s staring at my legs like I’ve just crawled through hell. And honestly, maybe I have. “Yes,” I mutter, walking past her toward the kitchen. “Let’s just say he wanted to make sure I followed f*****g rules, like getting on my knees.” “You did what?” Jenni looks horrified, her mouth dropping open. “Eww, Alissia, you don’t even know him and you did that?” “No!” I can’t help the laugh that escapes, though it’s strained, not quite reaching my eyes. “He didn’t touch me. I just knelt on the floor to prove I could follow orders. I wouldn’t have done more. I mean... I don’t think I would.” The doubt creeps into my voice, and that’s what scares me the most. Would I have done more if he told me to? Everything about this situation is pushing me in ways I’ve never experienced before. I wouldn’t have done any of this before. How do I know if I’m capable of resisting if things escalate? Shit. This is getting too complicated. I grab my laptop, my fingers itching to capture everything while it’s still fresh in my mind. The emotions, the fear, the twisted attraction. Jenni stands behind me, her breath catching as she reads over my shoulder. “f**k,” she mutters, her voice low. “Talk about powerful and dominant. You should show this to Jake. He needs to treat me like this sometimes.” Her words pull a laugh from me, but I shake my head as I continue typing. “Was it a real gun?” she asks, her voice laced with curiosity and concern. “Yes, Jen. A real f*****g gun.” My fingers don’t stop as I type, the scene replaying in my head with every tap of the keys. “And you pushed into it?” Her eyes widen, the shock evident in her voice. “I was going to die, Jen. It was either stand up and act like I didn’t care or actually die. I did what I had to.” My fingers pause for a second, and I feel the weight of what I’m saying. I breathe deeply, shaking off the lingering dread. “Now shh, I need to get this all out while it’s fresh.” She nods, thankfully quiet as I pour everything onto the page. Every detail, every feeling, every word exchanged between us. The fear, the tension, the strange attraction I’m too ashamed to admit. “Sounds like he made you want him,” Jenni says after a few minutes, her voice teasing from behind me. I freeze, my fingers hovering over the keys. I quickly shake my head in denial. “Yes, Alissia, your body wanted him. It’s a good thing he said he wouldn’t touch you like that even if you begged.” My head shakes in denial, even though I know deep down there’s some truth in what she’s saying. “That’s not—” “Don’t lie. You’re writing it all out. Your body reacted.” She laughs, but I refuse to meet her eyes, too caught up in my own thoughts. She’s not wrong. But there’s no way I’ll admit it. Not to her, not to myself.
