Chapter 25

I arrive at the treatment room carrying a unconscious limp Roxanna in my arms, as I enter I see the doctor already there by the treatment bed. I was stunned but grateful, I walk over and place Roxanna on the bed "hey doc, didn't expect you to be here, I was just going to call you" I said surprised, 1 thing about our doctor, no one but me and Thomas know his name, he doesn't want anyone knowing which is fair enough, he's also very professional and good at fixing people up "Thomas already did, so this is the infamous Roxanna Miles?" he asks, man I love how ahead of the game my brother is "yes, can you help her?" I ask trying not to sound as desperate as what I was "I'll have a look at her, see what I can do. Wow, she's certainly took a lot, much more than any of your other men you've called me for" he says as he checks Roxanna over. After checking over Roxanna seeing the full damage that has been caused and checking her vitals, the doctor gets a grim, stern look on his face. 

The doctor puts an oxygen mask on Roxanna, then looks at me stern, like he wanted to say something important, she looks awful, but the oxygen mask makes it worse. Just then the doctor turns to me "boss, she needs a hospital" excuse me did he say hospital? We have a ready made treatment room because the people we get him to treat can't go to a hospital. Now I'm really not happy with Robert shock and anger consumes me "WHAT?!" I yelled "she's took too much physically and has been given way too much of whatever she was getting given, she needs the hospital" the doctor explained, he's really good at what he does so I just trust him to be able to sort anything out, so for him to say hospital never happens maybe once a long time ago, with the information and questions flowing my brain I say "how the hell am I going to do that? She's a wanted criminal, who by the look has suffered from stuff that should've already been checked out", emphasizing why he got called, but the doctor is insistent "I understand that, but her vitals aren't stable. I can stitch her up and keep the oxygen mask on her, but that's it. She's endured a lot and could, sorry no, WILL DIE if you don't take her to a hospital for proper treatment" great, just great. Knowing that the doctor was right because he's never wrong with this type of stuff I sigh, "fine, but I don't want anything tracing to her in case the cops arrest her, so I'll send her under a fake name" "ok, we can take her in the back of my van, I have sirens to speed the journey up" the doctor replied I went so say thanks the machine that's monitoring Roxanna's vital all start to go flat, the constant high pitched tone rung out. 

Me and the doctor looked at each other then at Roxanna, her small framed, limp body looked lifeless, she stopped breathing and her huge heart came to halt "luckily I brought a defib with mew, it's in my bag, get it for me please, get your Thomas to bring my stretcher in as well" the doctor says as he starts CPR on Roxanna and I listen to him, like I said, he's good at his job so is always ready. I page Thomas to do as the doctor asked.

I get the defibrillator and pass it to doctor, the doctor put the defib on Roxanna and turns it on, I watch as it starts trying to restart her heart, electricity harmed her bad and possibly has killed her but right now is our only hope to save Roxanna. As I get lost with how much I want to kill Robert and think of what the outcomes may be, the doctor brakes me from my thoughts "I'll have to bag her in the back of the van, you'll have to drive though boss, she's hanging onto life by a thread" the doctor says packing his stuff, leaving the defib and oxygen on Roxanna. Thomas finally arrives with the stretcher, I gently place Roxanna on the stretch, the doctor put the machines and oxygen by Roxanna on the stretcher and signals Thomas to take 

her to the van, Myself and the doctor rush behind.

As I'm in the front of the van driving I turn to check on Roxanna, my brother decided to stay behind and hold the fort. I see the doctor working hard to keep her with us, I hear him talking "stay with us Roxanna, we'll get you to the hospital" "how's she looking doc?" I asked whilst driving the van "not good at all, the defib is not working as well as I'd hoped for, get the siren on and step on the gas" the doctor ordered, I don't listen to orders but I'll let it slide and listen "I'll also have to bag her, this is the only way to try bring her back, so step on it" the doctor says as I drive as fast as this van will take us.

I'm in a treatment room getting a bullet removed out of my arm, armed robbery with hostages , it's a chance you take but we saved lives so it was worth it. Angelica had just removed the bullet and starts stiching "it's a good job it's only a flesh wound Officer Connor" Angelica said to me "thanks doc, and please call me Tobias" I replied "ok Tobias, can't believe I'm treating you again, I remember treating you as a kid" she says distracting me from getting stitched "after I got beaten up by a girl? Please don't remind me" I said cringing at the memory " ok Tobias" Angelica said smiling when an alarm blared the hallways, the someone spoke over the intercom.

INTERCOM

All available doctors and surgeons to OR 1! I repeat, all available doctors and surgeons to OR 1 stat!

Suddenly in a rush Angelica said "I've got to go Tobias, nurse Daniella Gale will finish bandaging you up. I have to hurry" and off she goes, just then an older nurse came in "I wonder what that's about" I say as Daniella take over stitching my arm up "it's basically  an emergency, life threatening emergency that needs a lot of attention when it asks for all doctors and surgeons, usually the casualty has either arrived dead or dying" Daniella answered my question, I was shocked at that information thinking on the possible states they could be in especially if they're innocent. Stunned I say "oh wow, I hope they're ok" Daniella agrees "So do I, as a medical professional you never want to lose someone while working, but you have to put all feelings aside and focus JUST on the casualties and either try to bring them back or save them, before it's too late" Daniella finishes stitching my arm and starts bandaging it up "I get that part, it's horrible getting called out to a murder or someone's life being threatened and you have to stop it, before it's too late" I said, understanding how hard it is knowing someone's life is in your hands.

"What does that mean?" I ask Daniella watching her bandage my arm up "the casualty is dead and hey need everyone possible and all equipment to save them" Daniella answers so calmly "seriously?" I ask shocked, Daniella finished bandaging my arm "yep, and you're all patched up" "thanks nurse" "no problem officer and with that I leave the room.
