Chapter 20: The Blackmail
Jane was determined to uncover the truth about Lucy. She started following Lucy, hoping to find more evidence. One day, she saw Lucy meeting with a man in a secluded location. Jane hid nearby, trying to listen to their conversation.
She heard the man say, "Give me the money, Lucy, or I reveal the truth." Jane's heart pounded in her chest. This could be the evidence they needed.
Lucy seemed agitated. She argued with the man, her voice filled with desperation. Jane couldn't hear everything they were saying, but it was clear that Lucy was being blackmailed.
Jane quickly took out her phone and started recording their conversation. She knew she had to be careful. If Lucy or the man noticed her, it could put her in danger. But she also knew that this recording could be the key to exposing Lucy's deceit.
After the meeting, Jane rushed to Erica and showed her the recording. Erica was shocked. She couldn't believe what she was hearing. This was the evidence they needed to expose Lucy.
But they also knew that they had to be careful. They had to find a way to expose Lucy without putting themselves or Alexander in danger. They decided to seek legal advice, hoping to find a way to bring Lucy's deceit to light.
