Jasper
It wasn’t easy, holding Tiffany in my arms, hearing the sounds of people wishing us luck on making a family together. Not when I knew it was all an act to get her where I wanted her.
Her tears had soaked my shirt; I saw when she finally pulled her face off my chest and nodded. “I’d love to have you in our lives, Jasper.”
To my surprise, her mother came up and put her arms around us both. “I’m so happy for you two and my granddaughter, too.”
I saw her father coming our way, his hand extended. “I’m glad to see this happening too. You’ve come a long way, Jasper.”
Yeah, how’s that?
I’d come a long way only because a grandfather I’d never known had died. I shook his hand. “I’m trying.”
