Chapter 30

Hours before

•LUCIOUS•

She gasped when I wrapped my arms around her... I felt my face heat up when I realized she was practically naked and when she turned to look at me she said “Hey you-” Orson used the distraction and tranqued her then her companion gasped “Hey why would you--ow!” Orson was fast for a big guy the small one mumbled “Assholes” and she passed out.

I looked to my mate as I caressed her cheek and wiped away the remains of her tears. 

Why did you cry baby girl? 

I adjusted her and carried her in my arms bridal style I turned and saw as Paul took her companion from Orson he was looking at her like she was the most precious being in the world.

Interesting...Could she be? Nah she couldn't...Wait!? Did Paul finally find his mate?

I wasn’t expecting a response but Remo responded

‘Well from the looks of it I’m sure he did’

Paul carefully began to position her onto himself like a koala and wrapped both his hands under her butt and smiled snuggling into her hair 

‘I wonder if he knows where his hands are?’ 

Then Remo chimed in ‘No give him a second’

I looked at Paul

seconds passed before he blushed a bright red and moved one on her back instead holding her closer to himself. I couldn't help but chuckle at the sight of the Paul who seemed like he didn't care for females in the slightest and positioned my mate so she could be more comfortable.

He must have heard me chuckle because he looked at me even redder than before and stammered before he formed a coherent sentence "uh sh-she's my m-mate" I swear it looked like he was steaming red so I laughed nodding “It doesn’t take a genius to figure that out” he grumbled as we began to walk back towards pack grounds and I looked down at my mates adorable sleeping face unable to hold back and gave her a kiss on her cheek.

I'm sure it's cuz she passed out but she snuggled into me and a gentle smile graced her features. I couldn't help but smile suddenly I saw a flash and growled at Paul tempted to strangle him as I whisper yelled: "why'd you take my picture you ass!" He quickly put his phone away "What dude you never smile it was a rare moment" I scoffed and then he said, "I'll send it to you later" and I smirked as we both continued walking back on to my lands  

'Any warrior that can be spared come to guard the western border'

I heard a unison of ‘Yes Alphas’ when we were almost at the door then I sensed her running at me full speed. I looked at Orson the large pack warrior that had come back with us carrying a pineapple backpack and handed him my mate turning quickly and bracing myself as I felt her kick me in the side full force causing me to fly back and tumble.

I groaned as I stopped and finally landing on my back and opened my azure eyes only to meet her angry azure eyes then I groaned "What the f**k Tavia why'd you kick me and so hard too?"

I sat up and propped my elbows on my knees and just continued to watch her as she started fuming "No Lu you what the f**k! Why are you guys carrying two passed out she-wolves? WHAT THE HELL POSSESSED YOU TO THINK THAT WOULD BE A GOOD IDEA!?" her eyes gleamed menacingly as she snagged Paul's ear who was trying to creep away.

As always like the angle he is Ocean appeared with Olly who innocently repeated “Hell good Idea?” he laughed “No Olly bad idea” and wrapped his arm around my angry twin's waist who's anger dissipated slightly as she relaxed by his touch 

"You know I actually wanna hear about this wassup with the knocked out females?"

Tavia fumed "That's what I wanna know why are you guys mates knocked out!?" I snapped my gaze from Ocean to Tavia "How do you know?" Paul looked just as confused wincing 

She let go of him and rolled her eyes "I got mama's gift remember?" I nodded and then Paul's face lit up with understanding as he nodded.

I looked at her again and she looked more annoyed than before and let out a sigh "We tranquilized them because they were trespassing on our lands and beat the s**t out of our patrols" Octavia now had a huge smirk on her face 

"Ooouh I can tell that we are all gonna be great friends but I think you guys still gotta explain yourselves Moms and Dads are waiting at my house" I winced and Paul groaned and then Orson's mate Roma walked up to us. 

She bowed respectfully then moved towards Paul, and she took Paul's mate from him and she took a bag from Ocean heading to the packhouse with Orson following closely

"Hey Tavia--" 

Octavia put her hand up and said "Nope I don't wanna hear it Orson is gonna go back on patrol after he's done and Roma will dress them both in their clothes that I happened to find inside a red Jeep" I looked at her

"You do know that's breaking and entering right" she shrugged and said, "Not if the car wasn't locked up properly" I shot her a glare and she held out her hand "Come on, let's go talk to Moms and Dads I'm sure they're going to want to hear why you thought to tranquilize your mates was a good idea"

I flinched again

'Mom won't be too happy'  Remo whimpered

"LUCIOUS GABRIEL NIGHT! You better have a good explanation for your actions!" I flinched at my mama's tone there he stood at the door of Octavia's house glaring at me the same way he looked at me when I cut Octavia's hair when we were 6 years old. The glare in his usual gentle eyes gave me goosebumps 

Before I could answer the Previous Delta Burly popped up behind my mama and her usual innocent doll-like face was replaced by a terrifying scowl that made me want to run and hide with my tail between my legs

"PAULO NICOLO BURLY you better explain yourself before I KNOCK THE s**t OUT YOU!" her eye twitched in a menacing way and Paul flinched really hard opening his mouth to explain but was quickly silenced by Ivaines small hand and then my mama said "I want you both to go inside and sit down so we can all have a talk" my mama growled in anger and I walked into the house right past him with my tail between my legs with Paul close behind.

I looked up and saw my dad sitting in a recliner on the right side of the fireplace and Paul's Mom Nora sitting on the love seat on the left side leaving Paul and me to sit on the couch facing them. 

I took my seat across from my Dad and Paul sat across his Mom Nora who leaned back and waited for Ivaine to sit in her lap and resting her chin on Ivaines shoulder

she looked calm but her eyes gleamed with amusement.

My mama walked in followed by Octavia and Ocean who was holding a sleeping Olympia he bowed and said "I'll be upstairs" and swiftly made his way up. My mama was seated on my dad's lap even though my Mama was 6ft tall he still looked small in my Dad's arms I mean Dad did tower over Mom by a whole foot.

I stopped my sudden analysis because I could feel my Mama staring daggers at me. I didn't want to but O had to look at him, arms crossed over his chest, so I sighed "Where should I start?"

"How about explaining to us why your mates had to be tranquilized" my mama's gaze was terrifying and I felt like a kid again as I spoke glancing at Tavia scowling "Well they were taking out our Patrols and well…" I looked to Paul for help as he was cowering into his seat avoiding Ivaines intense glare he looked at me and sighed "Well it seemed like a good idea at the moment because that way they wouldn't run away and we would be able to…uh confirm" he got really quiet because I could feel the ominous aura coming from our parent's side of the room 

"So Instead of introducing yourselves like proper young men and getting to know them you second guess something your soul never lies to you about and on top of that instead of asking them to come to stay with you. You guys think the most logical thing to do before they even get the chance to accept you- is to knock them out with tranquilizers and carry them back with you basically against their will?"

Ivaine was now scarily calm and my mom...  was calm as he said "Because that makes sense right if your mate is putting up a fight you go and tranquilize them? For what just because they are stronger than our patrols? I mean are they that dangerous?" I looked at Paul and he looked at me.

Then suddenly Ivaine disappeared and reappeared as she smacks Paul full force in the back of the head and then I hear a loud smack before it registers that my mama smacked me upside the head and they both say at the same time "Are you guys stupid!" Nora and my Dad get up and swiftly move to their mates' sides holding them close to calm them down. 

My mama grumbles and Ivaine pouts and then Nora and My dad share a look and then Dad says "Well boys your both staying at our houses tonight" I was about to protest when Nora puts her hand up "And before you say anything you guys are staying with us so that you don't scare your poor mates. They will both more than likely react badly if you two are the first thing they see so we would like to avoid that"

Nora picks up Ivaine and reaches for Paul's hand who reluctantly takes it and walks out with them.

"Want me to hold your hand too?" I scowl at Dad making him laugh them Mama grabs my hand and leads me to their house

"GOODNIGHT YOU MORON!"

"OCTAVIA!"

"SORRY MOMMA LOVE YOU GUYS BYE!"

my legs felt heavier than led as I walked further away from where my Babygirl was

It's 4:50 am I fell asleep at 2:07 am 

I felt tired and cold I guess right when you meet your mate it's hard to be away from them. I wonder why she freaked out when I embraced her small frame

'Those gorgeous green eyes looked terrified and her stare went completely blank as if she was scared of me…'

'She's not scared of you dolt' 

'Then why did she panic when we held her'

'I'm not sure my mate didn't want to talk about it'

'Talk about what'

'I'm not sure she said it's not for her to say'

Before I could press him more I heard a howl that's a signal for when rouges escape... I got out of bed and pulled on my shorts walked down the stairs

we didn't have any captives

I felt someone pressing to get through the pack link

'Alpha two rogues have escaped the pack grounds one had short brown hair and green eyes and the other had long dark hair and different colored eyes'

I shot out of the house like a bullet straight to the packhouse where I almost slammed into Paul who looks just as panicked as I was

"How the hell did they know this would happen!?" I looked at him a little confused

"Who our parents?" He looked at me with slight irritation and then said "no not them obviously you dumbass" his voice dripping with sarcasm Remo didn't like disrespect and growled at him

he flinched back "ah sorry I forget that we have pack leadership positions now my apologies alpha" he bowed slightly as Ocean came running up "What's this I heard about to Rouges escaping?" I looked at him as he tied his hair back groggily with a yellow hair tie.

"Not rouges our mates escaped" then Ocean started to laugh "well that's what happens when you drug them I mean if I was them I woudda probably been scared and confused as to why I was fully dressed and in a house that wasn't my own," he said with a slight smirk and a shrug of his shoulders. 

We both looked at him slightly annoyed and then a group of pack warriors ran up behind him I looked at my men and gave Ocean a pat on his shoulder he was clever enough to get our trackers and the best of them all Roma Orsons mate and one of our strongest female warriors she nodded respectfully and them Ocean smiled "Now let's go get your mates"

•XOILA•

The house was surrounded Oris pulled us both close and away from the door and then he closed his eyes and opened them a slight blue hue gleaming off of them as he said “Get ready” 

The door flung open and pack soldiers flooded in I felt a sudden shift and was able to anticipate their attacks not waiting for an explanation. I started to knock the men down one by one backed up by Stacy who's eyes were glowing a silver and golden hue. We didn’t waste any time taking them down until my fist was caught and sparks erupted everywhere. 

"Why did you leave,” his deep baritone voice asked laced with hurt

my eyes snapped to his

green clashed with azure 

bringing my closed fist down and looking at me intently I felt my face heat up and looked away. He chuckled and then Stacy’s mate zoom past me and engulfed her small frame in his “Your breakfast got cold-” Stacy blushed but didn’t say a word

she didn't have too 

I looked back to my mate 

“I wasn’t gonna leave my family alone despite Isa's protests and I can't ignore the fact that you knocked me out with tranquilizers” he looked at me "Well why did you take out my patrols" I rolled my eyes and then Stacy said "Well they started it they didn't even hear us out" and then under her breath "Stupid butterfly" her mate chuckled 

"Did you guys have to break my house" 

He looked at Oris his eyes flashed with recognition as he said “Ah the Beta of Circo de la Rosa” Oris didn’t even flinch at what seemed like an insult? and said “Well hello to you too young Alpha of the Onyx Moon pack” and my eyes quickly turned back to him and I said “Onyx Moon Pack” then I heard a deep voice 

“Alpha the perimeters secured but De La Rosas on his way” I looked away from him and saw a 6 '7 lean muscled and lanky boy with long black dreads tied back with a yellow hair tie when he came into better view his Caramel colored skin was covered with tattoos all over his torso and up to his arms. His droopy Golden eyes looked serious as he spoke again “We gotta go” his defined jaw clenched slightly as he looked at my mate who looked at me

'I don't know Izz'

'So what you're a p***y now?'

'I'm not but…'

I looked at Oris a flash of loneliness surged through my mind and chilled my heart making it clench painfully.

'I don't wanna leave you alone'   

With sad eyes 

'He’s your mate Xo give it a chance… the chance I didn't get to have'

I looked at Stacy pouting in her mate's embrace 

'I don't want to leave him alone either Xo but I'm with you on whatever choice you make' 

'I promise he won't hurt us Human'

'But what if he doesn't want us'

'Then we leave no questions asked Xoila'

'Isa did you just'

'Let's just go with mate you dork’

She cut our connection and I looked to my mate who was still holding my hand an unknown voice entered my mind

Do you think you're good enough for him?

No, but I want to try to be

Try all you want you to know it doesn't mean s**t when he finds out what you did

I'll tell him

Oh yes tell him it's your fault and that you were too weak to stop him

My heart clenched painfully and I closed my eyes

'Don't let this parasite make you waver... give him a chance' 

Isa snarled at the voice as I told her 

'I will give him a chance but... Oris should come with us'

'I don't see why not now stop being a p***y and just give in'

With Isa's scolding, I met his eyes, hoping he would understand

I ran to hug Oris and heard someone try to stifle a growl I rolled my eyes and said “Ory come with us just make sure you settle everything with Memo” he smiled sadly and hugged me hard. I felt Stacy do the same and he gave us a squeeze placing a kiss at the top of our heads. "Let's hope he doesn't miss me too much" he laughed making my worry instantly dissipate then with a sigh he said “I gotta make some calls... for now take that stuff with you” he pointed to the bags we had brought home earlier bringing the phone to his ear and smiled “Now get out of my house and I expect payment for the damages” he pointed to my mate and turned back around walking up the stairs and talking into the phone

“Hey Memo it’s me no, no we're okay, yeah Onyx Moon showed up, no it’s fine he’s Xoilas mate, yeah I know I'm happy for her too, maybe you should let her tell them but Stacy found her mate too, yeah crazy right, hey about the Beta position-” and then his room door closed.

I looked at my mate and he simply gave me the 100-kilowatt smile that strongly reminded me of someone He looks so cute when he smiles I blushed at my sudden thoughts and turned to get my bags but felt an eruption of sparks on my hand so looked at him as he said

"Let them put the bags in the car" I looked at him his words not really registering so I just stared at him confused he chuckled and pulled me out of the house "You look cute by the way" those words seemed to click in my mind and I felt my face get bright red. I looked down and noticed I wasn't wearing shoes

'Hey, we don't have shoes on!'

's**t let's go get some real quick'

'Don't gotta tell me twice'

I looked at my mate

I felt a chill run down my spine at this voice that has been plaguing my mind since I turned 17 and pulled my hand out of his "uh um" I closed my eyes and took a deep breath "I gotta at least put on some shoes so um can you uh just wait by the car please" 

I peeked from under my lashes and he was staring at me for a second before he looked to Stacy's mate who's eyes looked like fog over the sea must be mind linking I looked at him and he smiled warmly at me  

It's only a matter of time before you ruin everything and he rejects you

'Don't let this voice attack you'

Ignoring the cold words like Isa asked me I turned to look at Stacy and we ran back into the house and up to our rooms. I grabbed my favorite backpack and started to pack some socks, bras, and undies because we didn't buy any and stuffed them all in my Steven universe hamburger backpack. 

I looked to my dresser opened the next zipper and knocked my makeup into it with a sweep of my hand. Satisfied I looked up catching a glimpse of myself noticing I was still wearing the necklace that Zinna gave me grateful that it was long enough it wouldn't rip if I shift. 

I traced the moon on it with my finger and couldn't help but sigh 

I'm gonna miss everyone 

I let it fall on my chest and it bounces lightly off the yellow star on my chest. That was when I noticed I was wearing my new Steven Universe black t-shirt with a yellow Star in the center and some cute light washed high waisted shorts that fit me great they were just a little shorter than my usual.

“You look cute by the way”

I felt my face get bright red when I remember what he had said and I looked away pulling out some black ankle socks putting them on and pulling on the yellow checkered Vans I put on my backpack and looked at my room one last time 

I hope my devil's Ivy doesn't die 

on that note, I shut the door and heard Stacy's door shut.

I looked at her she was wearing a red crop top with a pineapple in the center of it and some cute jean shorts and her red converse and her black backpack that had a sunflower charm hanging off of it. She smiled and held out her hand which I took hold of as she said "I'm glad you're giving this a chance...Xo let's keep our promise and not let the past stop us from living and running towards our futures"

I felt my eyes tear up and I nodded her eyes watered too and she pulled me into a hug giggling. I laughed too and gave her a kiss on the cheek for good luck she smiled brighter and did the same remembering the lucky charm her mom would give us before heading anywhere she wanted us to always remember that we carried her love with us everywhere we went. 

She let go of me but still held my hand and smiled as we walked down the stairs towards the door where Oris was standing. He smiled and said "I'll be with you guys in about a week because I have to train Zen to take over and he has to train Xi and Xi's going to train someone else but I think you guys should still go by at some point so that you can properly leave Circo de la Rosa and say bye to everyone" 

I hugged him one more time "See you in a week then Ory" he smiled and gave me a tight squeeze then Stacy hugged him and said "we'll see you soon" he smiled and gave her a squeeze then he walked out with us to our cars where my mate was standing with Stacy's she gripped my hand tighter 

"Ready?" 

I nodded and pulled out my car keys walking towards my jeep. She let go and walked to her car and being as bold as she always was she grabbed her mate's hand so that He followed behind her. He looked startled I giggled as I walked over to my car on the driver's side climbing in. 

My mate stood next to me he gently pulled off my backpack and slung it over his shoulder and then buckled me in and shut my door he walked around the car his long black curls swaying as he opens the door and climbed into the passenger side, his muscles flexed as he shut the door and buckled himself in.

I couldn't look away as I watched him once he was settled he put my bugerpack on his lap and looked up at me smirking. I'm sure he knew I was staring causing me to blush more and I pulled out my phone to play some Russ while I drove "uh...where to?"

All this blushing is causing the blood to rush to my head and sound like a bigger dork than usual 

I placed it in the holster and the jeep chimes with the Bluetooth connection I opened my Spotify and went to my RUSS playlist setting it on shuffle. 

He didn't answer so I turned to look at him and I tilted my head to which he smiled and said "Head down Pine road in the direction of the mall and I'll let you know when you can veer off the road towards the western border" I nodded not trusting my voice his smile was so blindingly bright I started the car and honked at Stacy who honked back 

'Follow me'

'Of course'

•STACY•

As I walked to my car I saw my mate looking anywhere but me it was cute as he tried to avoid me so I reached for his hand making him jump and spreading sparks all over he smiled at my legs instantly felt like jelly as we walked to my car he opened my door with his free hand and helped me take off my backpack before buckling me in kissing my hand and closing the car door. He walked around and his blonde hair glimmered with the rays of the morning sun  

'Mates so delicious he should just make us his already'

'Woah Mai that's a little'

'What you know you want him to' 

I ignored her and noticed that he had already buckled in I looked up and he smiled at me. I turned on my Bluetooth and put my music on shuffle then Easier started to play and I couldn't help but start singing. Then I heard a chuckle and saw how amused my mate was watching me I felt my face heat up and I pouted "What I love this song" he chuckled again and moved a stray braid out of my face "Nothing your cute" my face felt hot as hell and then I heard Xoilas car honk and I honked back at her  

'Follow me'

'Of course'

And then she drove off I followed behind her not even 5 minutes later my mate goes "I'm Paulo Nicolo Burly by the way" I glance at him and smile "I'm Stacy Noir" and giggle "I like your name" he smiles and then says "Sorry for the late intro you can call me Paul by the way or my love whatever is Easier" he scratches the back of his head and laughs 

"it's it's not like we got off on the right foot anyway" I smile loving the sound of his voice "I got your pun, you dork". I feel sparks erupt on my right thigh as he began to trace gentle circles "I hope our rooms to your liking" I glance at him and then Mai sends horny images to my head that makes my face steam not knowing what to say I just go with "I'm sure it's great" and I veer off the road right behind Xoila

•XOILA•

I took off towards his pack the first 10 minutes were silent only Russ could be heard in the background but it wasn't awkward just very calming. Then threw Russ a deep baritone voice was heard "I know it's it's kind of late of me to ask this but what's your name babygirl" 

I glanced at him and I couldn't help but giggle I held the steering wheel with my left and took his hand with my right "Xoila Savage of Circo De La Rosa" he smiled and then smiling back I asked, "And you are?" He looked at me funny and then he smirked "Lucious Night Alpha of the Onyx Moon Pack" then he placed a gentle kiss on the back of my hand sparks erupted everywhere and my face got bright red to which he chuckled and then said "veer off into that road now" 

I only nodded as I sang “Sometimes I start missin' you crazy, ain't nothing quite like you (yeah)” his voice came in as we sang “Love like this keeps going and going, I cannot forget you” the chorus started and I stopped... his voice was so beautiful it was deep yet melodious, he was so into it he didn’t notice I had stopped singing. 

As we went down the beautiful path towards his pack he stopped and smiled a panty-dropping smile and kissed my hand saying “Babygirl sing with me” I only smiled and then Isa purred 

'We’ll do more than sing for you' 

I got bright red and he held my hand to his face as we got closer to the pack. Isa began to play out ways he can take us in my car and I couldn’t help but blush bright red as he smirked 

“What's got you all hot? I mean more than you already are” he smirked at me and I looked anywhere but him and said “OH look we're here”
