Ch 22 Deep Breaths

Chapter 22

•XOILA•

Zen picked up most of our bags and followed behind Oris “Hey Zen you know we could carry our bags I mean their not really all that heavy” I said in protest he just continued walking and Zari said “I guess we'll just carry ourselves”

she said with a shrug following behind him then Stacy heads up the stairs and I sigh and head up the stairs as well admiring the walls and the paintings that seem to be replicas of The Starry night and almond blossoms by Vincent Van Gough I marveled at how realistic they looked

but then My eyes were captured by the Silhouette of a woman she had auburn hair tan skin and Icy vibrant blue eyes she looked familiar but she had this look of sadness… this feeling of longing. 

Her beauty was entrancing I stood there for so long that I didn't realize minutes had passed, I felt a hand grab my arm I jumped startled but relaxed once I realized it was Stacy "Hey Xo come on let's get upstairs" she smiled slightly and I felt a blush creep up on my face and I mumbled a silent sorry taking one last look at her picture I followed behind Stacy. 

Once we were all on the second floor I noticed that Oris was standing in the center of the hall with a smirk on his face and a twinkle in his eyes “Well my children I had a feeling Xoila would bring others with her so I prepped ahead of time.”

Everyone giggled a bit and I rolled my eyes as he motioned to the 5 rooms and 2 on either side of the house and one at the very end of the hall “Xoila your room is on the right next to mine and Stacy’s is right next to yours” He turned to look at Zen and Zari and said “Zen yours is on the left and Zaris is right across from Stacy’s” 

He smiled and Zen gave us each our bags patting Oris’s Shoulder and Stacy said: “We’ll all get situated and then we’ll come down for dinner which smells great by the way” Oris only smiled and nodded “Then I'll excuse myself as well to let you guys get comfortable, I'll wait downstairs” He walked by and ruffled my hair and said, “And don’t worry everyone has their own bathroom” and slowly disappeared downstairs. 

I looked on as he left and then turned to open the door to my room. I could hear as everyone did the same ready to leave a personal mark on the room to make it more their own. I walked in and was amazed to see that it looked almost the same as the old one I had in the Alphas house but it was like a combination of my old room in my parent's house. 

I had all the same old band posters of Nirvana, Panic at the Disco, Imagine Dragons, Muse, my anime posters like My Hero, D-Grayman, Fairy Tail, Adventure Time, and brand new stan lee poster and 5SOS a poster Stacy had given me I looked around noting a few more from anime and manga I read a while back. Everything was newer versions of things I had before my house was raided by rouges. 

What really caught my attention was the Devils ivy that was growing scattered over the walls around the room really giving the room a rustic feel I followed the vines all the way to the source and saw two potted plants hanging from the ceiling on either side of the window seat that was covered in green velvet with velvet seat cushions that had vine patterns on it. 

I had a computer desk with a new laptop and a couple of sketchbooks, some multi-colored Copic markers, inking pens, and a case of pencils. My bed was queen-sized with black bed sheets and a black comforter that said good times bad friends with a skeleton drinking a bottle. I was amazed at how well Ory had put the room together but I think what stole my heart was the life-size poster of G-Eazy that hung on the wall next to the vanity I hadn't noticed until now. 

I was about to see if the lights on it worked when I heard a blood-curdling scream come from Stacy's room. In a panic, I dropped my bag and ran to her room. I flung her door open and I was flanked by Zen and Zari ready to face danger.

I scanned the room and saw Stacy practically clutching the wall next to her vanity, I let out a sigh of relief and left my body when I saw what made her scream that way. It was just a life-sized poster of Calum Hood then I heard her say "you guys it's my husband here in my room Oh my Goddess" Zen just laughed and Zari smiled, shaking her head.

I turned to look at them and asked: "so how do you guys like your rooms?" Feeling a little curious they both smiled instantly and said almost in sync "Just like back at home" I laughed because of how surprised they looked to have said it at the same time. Stacy grumbled "you're not gonna say hi to my husband" because no one acknowledged her husband in her room I just smiled and said "I know Stace my boos in my room too. 

I'm also very happy I get to wake up to that tall drink of water" she just smiled. Then her eyes twinkled and she ran out of the room I flinched back but then followed after her then she squealed and said: "Oh my Goddess you have a poster of your tall white boy!" I laughed and then Oris appeared at the door and said "I'm glad you like your rooms but it's time for dinner" 

His hair was down running past his shoulders almost down to the bottom of his torso he had put on some black basketball shorts and a black v-neck he smirked and turned to leave Zen went out right after him at the mention of food we all just followed because of well food. After dinner, I helped Oris wash plates while everyone went to unpack their things. I was rinsing off the plates as he walked up next to me and started to dry them.

We stood in silence for a bit as we got the last plate done and I started to dry my hands and Oris started to talk "I'm glad you guys are all here and I'm glad most of you are still the same as ever. Zens is still a dork, Zari is still really sweet, little Dyad is still full of spunk but."

He fell silent for a second and I began to dry between my fingers " but ah my Xo she's so quiet… her eyes full of sadness even when she smiles...what happened Xo" I put the rag down and said "mom and dad died...there was nothing left in that pack for me" he looked at me and closed the cabinet. 

"That's not what I asked you" I couldn't meet his eyes I didn't want to bring him bad memories "I just couldn't be there anymore," he forced me to look at him both his hands on either side of my face "what happened?" My eyes started to fill with tears as I looked at him. He removed his hands from my face and pulled me into a hug, his arm resting on my shoulders and he said again, "what happened to my sunflower?" 

I wrapped my arms around his torso with tears threatening to spill over my chest tightening at the sound of the nickname my mother once called me "you promise you won't hate me?" His embrace tightened and he said"I would never you know I love you Xo"

I took a deep breath and the tears spilled over "the new Alpha of my old pack claimed I was his mate but I knew he was lying because Zari was his mate and well he.." I couldn't help but sob as the words were caught in my throat suffocating me they wouldn't come out. 

•ORIS•

Xoila started to cry hard her small body began to shake as she clung to me with all her strength. I felt as the sadness came off her in waves as I bent down and picked her up cautiously so as to not frighten her and carried her over to my couch where we had sat before placing her next to me and gently rubbed her back and then she continued 

"he...raped me and said he wouldn't mark me till next time" her head fell in her hands and she started shaking as she mumbled 

"I wasn't strong enough Oris" As I was about to speak some words of comfort I heard 

"It wasn't her fault there was a lot of wolfsbane in her system she couldn't fight him" 

I saw Stacy standing at the end of the stairs glossy eyed as she made her way over to Xoila and placed a hand on her shoulder " she isn't my mate but I feel what she feels" I wasn't following how would that be possible as if Stacy read my mind she said " I can only feel the negative physically and emotionally but the positive feelings are our own" she said and her eyes flashed gold she looked confused but then looked like she had come to terms with her words then Xo finally spoke again " it's all thanks to Stacy's dad and Fae that we have a bond so strong" 

I remembered Faes ability than the one that only the beta and the alpha families from the Stark Pine pack were aware of and nodded my head slowly "so...you guys inherited the gift" they both nodded and I could still feel Xo’s sadness "your safe now Xo and it wasn't your fault it was that disgusting piece of s**t who is at fault" I felt my control waver as my anger got the better of me.

•STACY•

I saw as Oris’s eyes flickered between the icy blue he had to gold 

it was like he was having an internal battle 

That’s because he’s fighting for control his anger is getting the better of him and his wolf wants blood

I was taken aback by what Mai said and linked

How come nobody ever explained it?

I just did ...but let’s hope he pulls it together because the only way to calm an angry wolf is with the scent or touch of their mate and… Poor Pan’s soul is incomplete

That's pretty sad Mai. Do you think he’ll ever be whole again?

I'm sure that if he was to get the opportunity to be in a pack once more he would regain most of his sanity and would probably be able to have a proper conversation with the others

That sounds like a great idea and we should all go out for a run so you guys could all get to know each other

Yeah I know we should let alpha know... see what she thinks... but I also think we should get Pan under control

You got it but how?

I asked myself that question but then I saw Oris was halfway through his shift. He looked like the werewolves from the old school movies, his eyes still flickering between icy blue and gold. I could feel my panic start to rise as I stood from my seat to give him some space I was about to grab Xoila but she moved out of my grasp and closer to Oris she gently placed her hands on the sides of his face 

Her eyes began to glow a golden green and she gently put her forehead against his power began to pulsate from her palms and a sudden wave of serenity hit the air making the atmosphere in the room feel lighter and calmer. Oris was back to normal, his breathing evened out and he let out a sigh of relief mumbling a “sorry”.

“How the heck did you calm his wolf?” I asked in astonishment not believing the fact that she calmed him down before he went ballistic and ran back to Louisiana and slaughtered everything in his wake. She placed her hand on her forehead and then took a deep breath as she struggled to pull it together then said “I used the eyes of Midas to enter his mind and then I tried to pull up his most serene memory and I guess I expanded on it? I don’t get it myself” 

I could feel that she was genuinely confused so I said: “I think we best call it a night. I'm sure we got a long day ahead of us right Oris?” He smiled at me and nodded “I’m gonna hit the hay now i’ll see y'all tomorrow morning” I walked up the stairs and right as I turned the corner I heard Oris say “I'm sorry Xo...I'm sorry I wasn’t there to protect you” she sighed and then I could hear the smile in her voice “It’s okay Ory I'm sorry I didn’t leave sooner so how about we go to bed I'm dying to use that new comforter” I heard his hearty laugh that made me smile and just went into my room.

I can wait to see what the future holds
