Chapter 34: A fine gentleman

Once they are inside her room, he gently puts her down on her bed. She comfortably lies on her side with her head supported by one of her hand as she stares at him. He just stands next to her bed as he stares at her too.

He smiles and says, "Baiyu, you are acting way too casual with this... Aren't you supposed to worry or at least be scared right now? Your reaction as a young miss is quite unacceptable right now..."

She stares at him before she softly laughs, "Moran... Are you telling me that I should scream or run out of my room...? Now? Why should I be scared? After all, I am not against what had happened a moment ago..."

He smiles before his face turns serious when he heard her answers, "Baiyu... When we kissed... It seems like you're quite experienced. Why is that so?"

"En... I wonder too. After all, this young miss is still a pure and chaste young lady."

She smiles because that is not a lie on her part. She is still a freaking virgin even at the 'old' age of 34 but that doesn’t mean that she did not have “fun” despite maintaining her virgin title.

He too smiles as he lies down next to her, facing the other party who is still smiling radiantly. According to his spy, she never interacts with any men other than her father, older brother, her younger sister's fiancé and her cousin brother. Not even that stinking Yingjun has the privilege to ever have any sorts of interaction with her in the past other than just brief meetings and short exchanges of words in between them. She is indeed still an innocent and pure young miss but, why was that when they were kissing, she's the one who guided him.

"Why are you looking at me like that?" She asked curiously.

"Baiyu... You are a wonder to be with. But I cannot wait to make you mine." He said as he pulls her body towards his. She gently puts her head on his shoulder while he put one of his arms around her body.

"So comfortable... I guess. You're the one I've been waiting for too, Moran."

"If so, I am the one who is blessed. I will rather be by your side, every second of it." He said softly before he kisses her forehead.

"Nah... I would hate that. It will be boring upon seeing your face that much. I wanted to have my own private times too."

"Okay. When you're mine, you are only allowed to spend your time without me for only an hour per day... That would be more than enough."

"Goodness, Moran. You're too much. I am still an engaged young miss. You are thinking too much."

"Baiyu. You will belong to me. I would never let you go to another man." He then kisses her with such passion that makes Shen Baiyu breathless.

"Moran... Stop... I cannot breathe..."

"Baiyu, promise me that you will be mine." He said as he looked into her pleading eyes.

"I promise..." She said obediently but, in her mind, she too will make sure that he will be hers. This kind of passion between them is too good to let go of. A cruel person yet a gentleman at the same time. She kisses his cheek to reassure him.

"Goodness... I have to fight internally now. I wanted to 'eat' you, but it is not the right time to do such a thing. Once you're mine, I will not let you out of our room..."

She laughs, "I will evaluate your performance by then... Do not disappoint me, Moran."

He chuckles when he heard her daring words. He wishes that they can spend more time together but, suddenly...

"Baiyu... Are you alright? It is time for breakfast and the young masters will be leaving soon too. Do come out to join us." Concubine Li Xiyin said as she stands outside Shen Baiyu’s room.

"Why are you locking the door anyway? Baiyu... Open the door."

Shen Baiyu and Crown Prince Beitang Moran look at each other before both of them immediately change their current pose into sitting position on her bed. She then whispers, "You should go now..."

He smiles at her before he kisses her again. As soon as their kiss ends, he vanishes before her very eyes, "Such a show-off." She gets down from her bed, checks her appearance thoroughly before she walks towards the door.

When she opens it, Concubine Li Xiyin seems to be checking her bedroom while she says, "Baiyu, you are all alone inside here right? I thought I’ve heard a bit of noise before you opened the door."

Baiyu laughs and says, "Mother... I am all alone here. Let us go then. The young masters shouldn't be kept waiting due to my laziness."

"Okay..." Concubine Li Xiyin said before she takes one last look at her Shen Baiyu's bedroom. Someone was in there with her daughter and she is not happy about it. She will tell the guards to be more diligent later.

Shen Baiyu noticed the sharp glint in her stepmother's eyes. She immediately clings her arm with hers and acts somewhat like a spoilt brat to distract her. Concubine Li Xiyin is definitely a protective mother figure when it comes to her 'weak' stepdaughter.

"Mother! Older sister! There you are!" Shen Lianhua runs towards them with a wide smile on her face.

"Lianhua! Walk!" Concubine Li Xiyin reprimanded her.

Shen Lianhua ignores this and further says, "Older sister... You forgot your veil."

"Goodness! Look at me. Silly, silly me..." Shen Baiyu said before she calmly covers her face once more with her white veil. That Moran really affected her this much but, she is not hating it. If she has to get married in this era, that person has to be him. He is quite an interesting guy and she reacts positively whenever they made any physical contacts with each other.

"Baiyu... In 3 more days, we will be attending the welcoming banquet. Are you sure that you really want your engagement to be annulled?" Concubine Li Xiyin asked as they walk towards the eating hall.

"I am sure, mother. I am more excited about getting my "compensation" soon." Shen Baiyu said nonchalantly.

Shen Lianhua laughs loudly not realizing that they are already standing in front of the eating hall. Everyone is staring at the new arrivals. The young masters of the Xiao family have to admit that Concubine Li Xiyin is indeed worthy as being one of the top-tier beauties in the Kingdom and, her own daughter is indeed following her footsteps too. Though the eldest miss is definitely not ugly as rumoured, they have never seen her true appearance yet.

"Cousin sister!!! Older brother Mu is here to visit you! I've received news that you're suddenly fallen ill because of that prince! No worries. I am here to protect you from any evil beings!"

A loud voice can be heard coming from the walkway. Shen Baiyu is staring at the incoming figure and curse internally. Shen Baiyu's older cousin from her late mother's side has come. This Mu Heli is supposed to be in another district as he is a magistrate there. Why on earth is he here? The original Shen Baiyu is quite cold and distant towards others, but this particular cousin brother never stops caring about her and keeps on visiting her whenever he could. Will she be able to gain his trust as she did with the others? She automatically retreats slightly behind her stepmother because she is afraid of this kind and attentive cousin brother of hers.
