Case #1: The murder

Next morning, Gokul is carrying bed tea for Priyanka. She needs her bed tea by six in the morning. He knocked the door. No answer. He knocked again. Still no answer. Wondering, he turned the doorknob & entered the room. He yelled a cry for help & fainted on the floor. All of the households came running when they heard his scream. They saw Priyanka stabbed, & so much blood on the floor, they're at a loss for words. Then they heard their Bahadur Singh scream. They went into the garden area. Bahadur Singh pointed them towards the back gate. There lies in the pool of blood the body of Tez Bahadur, who guards the back gate. Nilesh called in the police.
The police came, Senior Inspector David Roy leading the investigation. He and two other inspectors Smriti Sen, & Ahmed Sheikh, canvassed the crime scene. The photographer is taking the photos. The medical examiner Dinesh Ojha, after the initial examination, ruled both the incidents as a homicide. He also said that both the victims were in no state to fight back. The killer struck the guard from behind with something heavy like a cricket bat. After he became unconscious, he was stabbed. There are no defensive wounds on either of them. There are no prints to be found because the crime scene is compromised. The prints in the garden area are washed away by the heavy downpour last night. No sign of murder weapon either. The killer must have taken it with him or her. The bodies are sent for autopsy. The everything is tagged & taped. The crime scene is sealed by the police.
David saw the dead body, a beautiful woman, in her thirties lying dead in her bed. Who killed her and why he wondered.
David asked everyone to gather in the living room. He wants to ask some questions. He said that he would interrogate the person who discovered the bodies of first. Gokul & Bahadur Singh sits on the sofa, opposite David, who is sitting on a chair. He asked Gokul, "When did you find that Priyanka is dead? After finding out what did you do?"
Gokul answered in a scared voice " At six a.m when I went to give her bed tea." David told him not to be scared & handed him a glass of water. Gokul drank the water. After he calmed down, he went on " after seeing her like that, I nearly fainted. I cried for help. They came running into the room."
David asked, "then what happened?"
Gokul "everybody were pretty shocked, then we heard Bahadur. We ran towards the garden & saw Tez. David asked if he saw something last night. Gokul replied no he didn't say anything.
He asked Bahadur when he saw Tez. Bahadur replied that his shift ended at six. He was going to the outhouse, to get rest when he saw him lying on the ground & he called the others. David asked Bahadur the duration of his shift. Bahadur said that his shift is a twelve hours shift, starts at six in the evening. David asked if Bahadur remained in his place all the time. He said that he had left the place for two minutes, he had to use the bathroom.
David said, "When is this?"
Bahadur replied " around eleven."
David asked, " when did you have dinner?"
Bahadur answered that Gokul would bring his dinner to him & Tez. Yesterday he had dinner at ten thirty after the guests left.
David asked him " when did the guests leave?"
Bahadur replied, "around ten pm".
David asked, " Can anyone enter through the gate while you're away?"
Bahadur said" Even if someone did, the CCTV at the gate would have recorded it. But I have checked! Nothing suspicious."
David " Is there any CCTV at the back gate?"
Bahadur " there is one. But it is not working. We have called the company, they have taken it to their office to repair it."
David asked whose shift is the morning shift. Guru Singh, & Chandra Singh said they have morning shift at the front & back gate. David thanked both Bahadur & Gokul for their cooperation.
Smriti interviewed Mrs. Dsouza & the female help. Mrs. Dsouza told them about the letter. Ahmed questioned the others. Then the officers searched the house. The officers entered the antique collections room. He asked if there's anything missing or something out of place. They said that nothing is amiss. David said that there will be two officers stationed outside. They would help if anything happens. He requested everyone not to enter the crime scene & to call him if they have to say anything. Then they left
