Life Lately

There was an uproar in village,women were heard screaming,children were crying, enemies has invaded the village.people where running for their lives.

Elena wake up! Said derek we have to leave immediately.(Elena rubbing her eyes and streching at the same time)Papa what is it?it is late and why the uproar outside?Shhhhhh! Keep your voice down Elena, (derek said in whispers)we have to leave immediately.Elena was still confused about the whole situation.they got up ran toward the door in an attempt to escape.

Suddenly their door was pushed down by

A man clothed in amor with stains of blood on him, with a fierce look on his face,holding a fine double-edge spear rushed towards them,in an attempt to kill them.(obviously he was a soldier)

Derek pushed Elena away in an attempt to protect her from the fierce soldier.

In attempt of defence derek lifted a vase beside him and broke it on the soldier's head giving him a cut on his bald head. The soldier fell on his knees,Immediately Derek took elena by her hands and made their way out of the door.

Only then did Elena understand that their village has been attacked.

Derek took Elena with him and flee that night.They ran as fast as their legs could carry them.

The next morning,they woke up in a desolated old Temple at the boundary between their village and "Novo"(a Town before the capital city).from afar they could see the chimes of smoke from the village, lots of houses were destroyed only the chirps of birds were heard,everywhere was quiet.

Should we go back?Elena asked

No!! (he said With a displeased look on his face).They will be back soon(derek replied)

But Father who are they?Elena asked

Derek:They are invaders who seek our home.

Elena:Can't the Emperor come to our aid?

(Derek was slience)

Papa..papa... papaaaa!! Elena called out

Derek:Elena you ask too much questions. This is the outcast of juka ,the Emperor doesn't have much say here.

Ohhh!!Elena exclaimed with a disappointed look on her face.

Derek noticed that Elena was looking sad, in other to lighten the mood he asked. Elena guess where we are heading to?

Elena:where! Still looking disappointed

Derek:"JUKA"

Her eyes Brightened

"The Capital city Juka" you mean?(she aked in a happy tone)Derek replied "Yes juka",you've always wanted to see how beautiful the world looks.So we are heading to Juka.

Yes!! I'm going to see the world( in Excitement she said,but paused a bit turned towards derek and said)but so sad our home has been destroyed and I'll never get to see my friends.Derek replied We are lucky to have escaped alive,who knows what fate awaits us.And as for your friends, fate will decide if you'll meet again.

"Are you sure fate will bring us together"papa? Elena said while jumping on the leaves by the pathway

Derek:Yes i hope so.there was silence for a while before Elena said

Elena:Papa I'm hungry can we walk faster please… she groaned.

Derek:You little glutton you are always hungry (derek said rubbing Elena by her hair)

"Hehehe" i need food to grow taller so that i'll be able to protect you like you did yesterday.

Derek:well said my child,lets walk Fast so that i can get you food. (he smiled)

Derek and Elena arrived at" Novo" a town before the capital city.They decided to spend their night there in an inn after a long journey.

The inn attendant:welcome, how many rooms sir?

Derek:Two rooms.

Inn attendant:it cost five Declan coins.

Derek brought out his money bag counted five Declan coins and handed it over to the inn attendant.

Inn attendant:okay sir,here are the keys,enjoy your stay.

Derek:Thank you,he turned toward Elena and said"Go freshen up, you must be tired after a long journey"handing her,her room key.

Elena:okay papa(she said running up the wooden stairs happily)

Inn attendant:She must be your daughter

Derek smiled saying" Yes she is"

Inn attendant:she's looks so innocent and happy he smiled.

Derek headed to his room.

Knock…knock..knock

Elena:Yes papa I'm coming( she opened the wooden door) dressed in a blue garment and white robe and a pair of Phoenix designed hairpain on her hair

Derek:"My daughter always looks the best"(he expressed)

I know you must be hungry Let me take you around to explore Novo and eat it's famous Spicy Noodles

Elena nodded with a board smile on her face and they headed out.

The streets of Novo was indeed bustling,The people moved about their businesses one could hear the sound of carts and carriages moving around.

"Buy your panckes" here said a seller

Elena moved closer,looked at the pancakes they looked appetizing"she said turning toward derek she asked " papa can i have some pancake"?…please get some for me (pulling derek by his garment)

Derek:okay..okay i will.

how much does it cost? derek asked the seller.

Seller:"Two Declan coins" he replied

Dereke dipping his hands into his pocket bringing out coins he said.

Derek:" Here, two Declan coins"

Seller:"Thank you"

He wrapped up some pancake for Elena.handing it over to her, she said"Thank you"in a happy tone and hopped away while stuffing the pancake into her mouth.

"Thank you" derek said to the seller.

"Elena slow down and watch your steps"Derek yelled

"Okay papa"she replied.

They arrived at a restaurant To have the Famous spicy Noodles before heading back.

Waiter:Hello welcome

Derek&Elena replied" thank you"

Waiter:what do we offer you

Derek and Elena chorused" SPICY NOODLES"they looked at each other in amusement and laughed out happily

Waiter:okay I'll be right back(he left)

"Papa I'll love to come back here next year"Elena said.(While tapping her feet on the polished floor)

Okay we'll come next year derek replied.

The waiter arrived with their food on a wooden tray,Here it is. please Enjoy.

Derek&Elena Choursed once again Thank you.

Mmmh! Papa this is delicious!!Elena exclaimed.

Derek:Yes i told you…it is very delicious. (Derek looked up to see Elena stuffing her mouth with noodles he said)

Elena!!eat slowly,

Elena &Derek:Do not stuff your mouth with food they both chorused.derek laughed out loud and said. Ohhh! you now mimic the way i talk?Elena replied i knew you would say that,you say that all the time papa.

Derek replied :Okay i won't nag you today but eat slowly.

"Okay papa"Elena replied.

They had finished having their meal,and made their way out heading back to the Inn where they resides.

(Now back at the inn)

"Elena go sleep early we have a long journey ahead of us by tomorrow"Derek said

"Okay papa Goodnight"Elena replied.
