Days of Torture

Elena was on her bed crying silently

She clearly remembered the voice of derek telling her they where heading to Juka and how excited she was about it,but now she regrets coming here.

She kept asking herself if she had objected to their coming to juka,her Father would not have died, she clearly remembered the voice of that vicious General telling her she was the cause of derek death.

The part that broke her heart was when she remembered that it was out of her curiosity that the soliders discovered them in their hiding spot.Oh! How she wished she never spoke,maybe her father would still be alive but it is too late,derek is gone.

She remembered that derek gave her a written note that she hid under her skirt, she quickly brought it out and read the content of the letter(of course it was written with Derek's blood which signifies urgency)

Now how does she find Official Leo

He is the only one who can help her,but first she has to leave this brothel.

She was still thinking of her way forward when the wooden door opened and Anna walked in carrying a plate of food on her hand.

Anna:Here (handing her the plate of food)

You need to eat in order to recover

Elena:why are you been kind to me?

(She asked Anna)

Anna:"Always lend a helping hand" she said with a smile on her face.

Elena still looking at her hoping she would give her a reasonable answer

Anna asked her"what's your name"?

Elena:My name is Elena

Anna:you are not a local because you don't look like one?

Elena:No i'm not

Anna:you are finally willing to talk to me?

Elena was slience

Anna:Finish your meal and get some rest

Elena nodded her head,Anna stood up and left ,leaving her to have her meal.

The sky was filled with stars and the full moon shown bright above the sky,Elena sat on her bed staring at the sky through the window,she wondered which particular star in the sky was her father.

She said looking up "Papa you promised to be with me Forever,Why then did you leave me" with tears running down her cheeks.

Then came a knock on the door

Knock…knock…knock

She quickly wiped her tears with her palm

Elena:come in please

Anna walked in,behind her were two young girls holding a quilt and pair of clothes

Anna turned towards them and said drop it over there

The girls:Yes ma!!

Then she asked them to leave.She sat on the bed very close to Elena the following conversation transpired between them.

Anna:Elena so tell me about yourself

Elena:my name is Elena and I'm 15 years

Anna:You are so young why did you come to juka alone

Elena:i actually came with me father but he just passed away.

Anna became speechless not knowing what else to say.

Elena told her every thing that happened and Anna felt so sorry for her.

Anna finally spoke up

Anna:Elena you are so young and juka is never a place for the weak,"it is either you be the bully or get ready to be bullied"

I also had an ugly event similar to yours but here i am now, you have to be strong Elena. I picked you up because you were as pitiful as i was back then,i see my younger myself in you Elena(she smiled).

As you know, she paused

"This is a brothel",i own this place.

But i don't want you to join the other girls here,this is not a place for you,you are too young. Elena interrupted her saying

"Do you want to throw me out"?

"Please don't throw me out i don't have anywhere to go please ma" she said in tears.

Anna:No Elena I'm not throwing you out

Listen to me she held Elena's hands

I'm not throwing you out Okay?

But a brothel is not a place for you, okay you'll stay here for the meantime okay?

Elena responded with her eyes already swallowen "Okay ma, Thank you".

Anna:Now go have your bath and change your clothe And make sure you don't cry anymore she said smiling

Elena:i won't cry anymore

Anna:That my good girl

I'll leave you to rest okay?

Elena:Okay goodnight

Anna:Goodnight too

Anna stoop up and left closing the wooden door behind her.

Light fades.

The sun shone bright above the sky,The streets of Juka was bustling as always,the brothel was filled with men of both noble and average class, the strong smell of liquor lingers in the air. group of girls where seen performing Opera and some playing musical instruments,male ushers were busy ushering in their visitors.

Elena was coming out of her room,she could see how busy and lively a brothel was and nobody noticed her presence,so she decided to take a stroll outside of the brothel.

The stairs where decorated with flowers,the floor was polished and shiny above her head was a big shiny chandelier

The brothel had many rooms.The scene of the dancing performance got her attention she stood and wondered how they could dance so beautifully.

She felt a hand that tapped her by her shoulder,she quickly turned,just to see a young man holding a jar of liquor.one could tell that he was drunk,he grabbed her tightly on her wrist and said to her.

The man:Ehhhh!! Miss you look so beautiful i know you can satisfy me tell me how much should i pay,I've got alot of money you know(he said in a mockery tone)

Elena was already frightened but she managed to respond

Elena:sorry sir I'm just a servant here(she said quickly, trying to remove his hands from her wrist)

The man:That makes it more Interesting (pulling her close enough to him, this time he didn't want to let her go)

If you serve me well i might redeem you from this brothel then you'll be mine….he laughed

Elena:please let go of me(pulling herself away from him)

He tried to force himself on her,everything happened so fast that Elena saw herself on the floor struggling.

Then came a sound of heavy blow

Elena looked up to see a girl older than her dressed so Elegantly with three male servants standing behind her, she hit the man on his head with a wooden stick pulling him by his garment and said to him

"Do you think you can harass anyone here,because it is a brothel?

"Take him away"she said to the servants

The man:heyy miss I'll deal with you(while he was been dragged away by the servants)

Leave me …leave me ..do you know who i am huh!!He said to the servants,but they did not listen to him instead the throw him out.

The girl reached out her hands to Elena and pulled her up.

Hope you're not hurt? She said

Elena:adjusting her dress with her eyes filled with tears she responded" No I'm fine thank you".

The girl said "My name is Lily nice to meet you"

Elena:I'm Elena

Lily:Hey elena sorry about what just happened it's a brothel such things normally happen here,don't be scarred he won't come here again(she tried comforting Elena)

Elena:thank you for saving me

Lily:it's fine,seems you're new here your face is not familiar

Elena:yes I'm a new servant (she lied)

Lily:it's okay so where are you heading to?

Elena:To get something(she lied again)

Lily:Okay, be careful on your way bye

Elena was in a haste to leave because she was embarrassed of what just happened she didn't even respond to lily she dashed out immediately.
