On the phone, the man's heavy breathing and the woman's soft moans continued.
The woman spoke in a broken voice.
"Felix, I don't blame you for choosing her out of responsibility. I only blame myself for meeting you too late."
"I don't care what people think. I just know I love you. I can stay with you without any title."
"Please don't send me away. I can lose everything, but I can't lose you..."
With the sound of intense movement, Felix's hoarse voice emerged.
"Yvonne... I love you too..."
Sasha gripped her phone tightly. Her knuckles turned white, and tears streamed down her face like a broken string.
He had betrayed her again.
Sharp cramps tore through her abdomen, along with a constant kicking sensation.
The baby seemed to feel her pain and was struggling inside her.
Sasha took deep breaths, biting her lip until it bled, forcing herself to stay calm.
She hung up and quickly called 911 for an ambulance. She was rushed to the hospital.
Only after lying on the emergency bed, receiving oxygen, and confirming the baby was safe, did she finally breathe a sigh of relief. But her eyes filled with a hatred she could barely control.
If before this, she had wanted to part on good terms with Felix...
Now, she only wanted to destroy everything.
Sasha opened her phone and checked the location tracking app showing Felix's address.
Her eyes went cold. Then she dialed the police.
"Hello, I want to report someone for soliciting prostitution."
She gave the dispatcher Felix's address.
Two hours later, she received a call from Felix.
Sasha didn't answer. She hung up and turned off her phone.
She slept at the hospital and was discharged the next morning.
When she got home, she saw Felix sitting on the sofa, looking like he hadn't slept all night.
He had quit smoking after she became pregnant, but now he held a lit cigarette between his fingers.
The ashtray on the coffee table was overflowing with butts.
He looked at her with a cold, unfamiliar gaze.
"Was it you who called the police?"
Sasha nodded calmly.
"Yes."
The two faced each other in silence. The false peace they had maintained for three years was shattered.
Felix looked down at her, his eyes growing even colder through the smoke.
He let out a soft laugh, reached out, and pinched her chin, speaking in a teasing tone.
"Sash, why can't you ever learn to play dumb?"
"If you hadn't been so aggressive, sending people to cause trouble at Yvonne's workplace, I wouldn't have gone to see her again. And I wouldn't have rekindled things with her."
"Now that it's blown up, I can't just abandon her. Everything you've done has only pushed me closer to her."
Sasha bit her lip and stared at him.
Liar.
He was lying.
She hadn't sent anyone, and a man who wanted to leave couldn't be stopped anyway.
He was the one who had done wrong, yet he was shifting the blame onto her.
She looked up at him, her eyes red with defiance.
"So when I see my husband checking into a hotel with another woman, should I just stand there and hand him a condom?"
Felix's expression darkened.
"Sasha, I gave you the title of Mrs. Sterling. I even gave you another child."
"I don't owe you anything anymore."
Tears poured down Sasha's face.
So this was what he really thought.
Felix looked down at her, his tone as if he were granting her a favor.
"Don't worry. No one is going to take your place as Mrs. Sterling."
"Just have the baby quietly. For the child's sake, I won't divorce you."
"From now on, you're Mrs. Sterling, and Yvonne is the woman I love. I hope you can learn to get along with her."
"She was scared and upset after being taken to the police station because of you. I'll stay with her for a few days. You stay home and calm down."
Sasha's hands, hanging at her sides, clenched into fists.
Her nails dug into her palms, and blood seeped through her fingers.
She trembled as she looked at his back.
"Felix, are you so sure I won't divorce you?"
Felix glanced back at her.
"You didn't three years ago, did you?"
Then he walked out.
The door slammed shut with a bang. Sasha's strength left her, and she collapsed onto the floor.
In a daze, she thought she heard the voice of the twenty two year old Felix.
He had been nervous, trembling, when he gave her the engagement ring.
"Sash, will you marry me?"
She had asked him seriously.
"Will you treat me well for the rest of my life?"
Back then, Felix's eyes had sparkled like stars, with room for only her.
"I will."
Sasha had smiled as she took the ring.
"Felix, I hope you mean what you say. If you break your promise, not only will I make you lose me forever, but you'll pay the price."
Three years ago, when Felix cheated, she couldn't bring herself to leave.
But today, three years later, she decided to move forward.
And those who betray a true heart deserve to pay.
Sasha's hands trembled as she picked up her phone and called her parents.
"Mom, Dad. I'm divorcing Felix. Can you come get me in a week?"
Her mother understood instantly.
"He's back with that woman again?"
Sasha bit her lip and choked out.
"Yes."
Her father cursed in anger.
"That worthless bastard. When his parents divorced, no one wanted him. Our family raised him, helped him build his business. That's how he got where he is today."
"Three years ago I thought he had finally come to his senses. But he's still up to his old tricks."
Sasha laughed through her tears. Her eyes slowly went cold and empty, filled with nothing but hatred.
"So, however he got it, that's how he'll lose it."
"After the divorce, he'll walk away with nothing."
"Since he and Yvonne think love is all they need, let them go live with nothing together."
Her father said coldly.
"Don't worry, daughter. I gave him the connections and resources to build the Sterling Group. And I can just as easily knock him back into the mud."
