Dilemma's End

The next day I reached school at my usual time. Kritika was already there waiting for me. Somehow, I and Kritika always managed to reach school before time so that we could get some perk of time for gossiping. Kritika was standing near the fence smiling at me. "There you are. So finally our queen is back from her grand new year celebration party." I said to her rolling my eyes. "Ohffo! It looks like someone missed me a lot. But babe if you missed me you should greet me with warm hugs and love but you came taunting me, you  weird girl." Kritika said in a mocking tone. " You find it funny? yesterday was the day  when I needed you the most but you were busy partying." I exclaimed. "Why ? what happened? did those guys say anything to you? did they trouble you? you just tell me and I'll knock their face in front of the whole school." she replied. Kritika was always more of a bold person. nothing in the world could scare her. She was pretty and brave. Many boys had their eyes on her but nobody had the courage the express. She also knew that she was quite popular among boys and always kept a count of those who was after her love. She believed that she deserved the attention for being pretty and like every beautiful girl she had her own standards set which none of the guys in the school could meet. But I was the complete opposite of her, I had never been confident enough to accept the fact that I was beautiful. And now having a boy after I was big trouble. I could not entertain the fact that I have an admirer. I told Kritika everything in detail. " Are you mad?. at least you should have taken the card after he left," she said after listening to me. "Are you kidding me? why would I accept his card when I don't even like him." I asked a little annoyingly. " You could have used that card as a showpiece for your room stupid" she mocked. I gave her a cold look. "Okay! now on a serious note if you want we can complain to the principal and make them punished for this " she said, this time sounding sincere. "No yar, I can't do that. I can't let this incident become a new hot topic for school. I don't want to become a center of attraction for everyone. And anyway pre boards are about to start and they will be provided with the preparation leave soon and right after pre boards there will be board exams and then a long vacation., which means I'll just have to tolerate them for few more days only" I said. "You think they are good enough to stop all this just to study. I have never seen them studying. They are always out of the class for some punishment and you hope that they will stop stalking you during the leave. Impossible for them" Kritika said. "But at least they will be away from school these days. that would be a great relief too" I explained. "Okay if you believe so. Let's just wait for the preparation leave to start but at least one thing I am happy about is that the dilemma is over. Now we know that the taller one is after you and the other is after me", Kritika replied. She was right, now the dilemma was over but I was not happy about it unlike her. They were still a headache for me no matter what. The preparation leave for the board exam aspirants finally started and I was relieved. Kritika was right, they still kept following me but as I said before I felt relieved because they were not at the school and no more had to bear their stalking eyes. After two months we also appeared for our annual exams and then summer vacations started.
