The First Deception

The next day  I reached school at my usual time. I expected Priyank to be waiting for me on the way but he was not there. Maybe because he did not need to do that anymore, he got what he wanted. As I reached, I looked out for Kritika who was already waiting for me near the fence. But this time, my eyes were searching for someone else too. I really wanted to know the difference that my decision was going to make from then. "Oh! See how desperately Juliet is searching for her Romeo", mocked Kritika. I smiled, she caught me. "Its nothing like that. I was just looking for a good place to sit." I replied. " As if I don't know you. By the way they are not here yet." Kritika said. "They? they who?" I asked. " Daksh and Priyank of course, I said they because they are always found together like us" Kritika answered. "Ya right, maybe we came too early and they will be here on time," I said.

 Soon after that, the assembly bell rang and we reached the ground for morning prayer. As the assembly ended I spotted Daksh among his class fellows, I again looked for Priyank but he could not be seen anywhere. That was the first time when I saw Daksh without Priyank." Maybe he is absent today", I thought. I did not say anything to anyone and went straight to my class. The whole day went off but Priyank was seen nowhere.

This kept on happening for a couple of days. Priyank was not coming to school. I really wanted to see him and wanted to feel the experience of being in a relationship. But it seemed like fate had its own plans for me. I kept waiting for him to come back, Kritka was also confused at whatever was happening. Priyank was not attending the school while I was silent at it throughout the time. I wanted to ask Vinay but did not have the courage. Finally, Kritika broke the ice, "Its been 18 days, and Priyank is seen nowhere, do you have any idea about his where being?." she asked in a worrying tone. "No, even I am wondering the same" I replied. " I know you are worried too. Let's ask Vinay about it." She said. "Are you mad? No! we are not going to anybody. I don't want to look like a desperate lover who is dying to see her boyfriend" I replied. That boyfriend word sounded yuck to me. "Sometimes your talks make no sense to me. You are really weird at times Parthavi. Why will you sound like a desperate? It's your right to know about that person. You just stay here and let me call Vinay." Kritika said and went straight to look for Vinay without allowing me to speak further. 

Just a few moments later saw Vinay and Kritika walking towards me. "Parthavi you won't believe what Vinay has to tell you," Kritika said angrily. " What's wrong Vinay? Where is Priyank? Is he not well?." I asked. "Umm! Actually Parthavi, the truth is that Priyank is not here in the city. He left for Mumbai for his further studies. He lied to you because he just wanted to hear a yes from you before leaving." Vinay told. "What? How can he do this to me? And you also supported him in that? You call yourself my brother? You should feel shame for playing with someone's emotions Vinay. How can you be so heartless?". I yelled almost bursting into tears. Kritika came and hugged me while Vinay stood silent. She tried hard to console me. I could not believe that a person who claimed to love me with all his heart started the things with a lie. The very first thing that he confessed to me was a lie. It was his first deception that he gifted me at the very beginning of our journey.
