Elizabeth’s POV
The ceremony had finished, and we were giving Lucas our congratulations, and I know Prince Kyle was watching me throughout the whole ceremony. He came over to shake Lucas’ hand when Lucas wrapped his arms around him, probably to tell him I’m willing to give him a chance. I smiled at the thought; Prince Kyle really is the moon goddesses’ gift to the world.
When Prince Kyle stepped back, I could see the grin on his face. Yep, that’s what Lucas said to him.
I turned my head to smile at Queen Maxine. Nice save, Lizzy. Can’t have Prince Kyle thinking I was smiling at him. She told me she would be having a nice little chat with her son about how to treat his mate. She didn’t like the idea of him sleeping around with other women when I was out there for him.
“Elizabeth, can you hear me?” A baritone voice came through a mind link. This was the first time someone other than those from the Silver Falls pack could mind link Lucas, myself or Helen, and it took me by surprise.
I looked directly at Prince Kyle, who had a smile on his face, and I pursed my lips together, trying to figure out how he could mind link me. I know royalty can mind link anyone in their kingdom, but they couldn’t do it with Lucas when they tried. It’s either because they just re-established the Silver Falls pack or it’s because he is my mate. “If you can hear me, please say something.”
I narrowed my eyes at him because I was going to make him suffer. “If you think all is forgiven you are truly mistaken,” I huffed, walking out the door to my room. I could hear Prince Kyle following behind me and closing my eyes for a second before reaching out to open the door. I didn’t get a chance because he spun me around, trapping me in his arms.
I went to open a mind link in protest, when he crashed his lips into mine. I tried to struggle free of his grip, but the electricity in his touch was melting my insides. What the hell? I wrapped my arms around his neck and kissed him back. He bites my bottom lip softly, and I open my mouth, inviting his tongue in.
“Ahh-hmm,” Helen sounded, clearing her throat. I quickly jumped away, scared we were just caught in a compromising position. “Sorry to interrupt,” she continued, smirking in my direction and I took my opportunity, opening the bedroom door and raced inside, shutting the door behind me before leaning against it. “My name is Helen,” I heard her introduce herself to Prince Kyle.
“The third enchanted person,” Kyle whispered, and it sounded like he was telling himself rather than asking Helen if she was who he thought she was. “How did you know we were here?”
“Smell and sound,” Helen answered in an amused tone, and I could only imagine Kyle was staring at her, trying to figure out how she made it look like she could see. “And I had Caitlyn come forward to confirm what I thought was going on.”
There was silence and I thought they had walked away, so I opened the door a crack to peek out to make sure. “What are your intentions for my cousin?” Helen inquired, turning to face Prince Kyle. The look on his face is what I imagined, and it was amusing to watch because he didn’t know if she could really see him or not.
“She’s my mate. My intentions are to please her for the rest of her life,” he stated, looking directly at her.
“Prince Kyle is your mate? As in Prince Kyle Jackman from the Kingdom Pack?” Helen’s shocked voice came through a mind link. I was hoping I wouldn’t have to explain everything while he was standing right there, looking like the god that he is.
“Apparently. He went into the dining hall where I found his f**k buddy from this morning, who couldn’t wait to throw it in my face. I had Lucas remove him from my room when he chased me down. Bloody males,” I answered, rolling my eyes for added effect.
“You seem pretty over it now,” Helen giggled, and I smirked behind the closed door.
“Lucas said he was a good guy and I should give him a chance. That was me, giving him a chance,” I replied, and I peeked out the door again, watching as the small grin appeared on her face before it returned to a neutral expression.
“I don’t care if you are the prince. You hurt my cousin, I will kick your ass to hell and back,” Helen stated, before turning and walking away. That’s funny s**t. I opened a link and started to laugh in Prince Kyle’s mind, shutting the door again.
“You think that’s funny?” he asked.
“Yes,” I replied before closing the mind link. I heard his footsteps walking away, and I sat down on the ground because my heart was beating so fast, I thought it was going to leap out of my chest.
“What are you waiting for? Go after mate,” Lacey said, her gold eyes burrowing into my consciousness.
“I can’t go now. That would make me look desperate,” I answered, and she nudged herself up against me.
“You need to talk to mate. Clear the air with him, so you can move forward,” Lacey encouraged, and I released the breath I was holding. Damn! I hate how she is right all the time. “It’s a gift,” she snickered, and I pulled myself from the floor and opened the door, sniffing the air to see which way Prince Kyle went.
I could smell the intoxicating scent of rosemary and cedar and followed it down the hallway. It led directly to a room; this must be his room, I thought to myself, and I hesitantly put my hand up to knock on the door. Lacey came forward and gave three loud knocks; “You’re welcome,” she said, before retreating again. What am I doing? I went to walk away when I smelled his scent coming closer to the door.
The door opened, and goddess, he was only wearing a towel. My eyes drifted downward, seeing his d**k standing at attention underneath. “See something you like?” he asked seductively, and all thoughts on why I was there left my brain.
“We need to talk to mate,” Lacey reminded, and I quickly darted my eyes away from Prince Kyle’s middle region, while shaking my head to regain my focus.
I signed; “I think we need to talk,” and Kyle stepped aside, opening the door for me to come in. I walked into his room and took in my surroundings. It was quite bare, and I thought it would be more of a bachelor pad with video games stashed on the ground and a fuse table in the center. He followed me and sat down on the sofa.
“Do you think you should get clothes on first?” I asked through a mind link, since it was easier to have our talk, and we established we could mink link one another.
“Depends. Are you just going to rip them off me later?” Kyle answered out loud, and I rolled my eyes in response before sitting down next to him on the sofa. “OK, I’ll be right back,” he stated, placing his hands up in front of him. He left to go into another room, coming out moments later in some ripped jeans and a blue T-shirt.
“What do you want to talk about?” he asked, taking a seat next to me again. “Or is it easier to ask via mind link,” he added, opening a link to me.
“Lucas thinks you deserve another chance. I’m not naive about how werewolves act around one another; Lacey gives me ‘it’s nature’ talk all the time. Who is that woman, and why did she look like the kingdom’s w***e? Do I need to be worried you may have an STD or something?” I asked, and he let out a long breath.
“Nice way of throwing the most difficult questions out there first,” Kyle responded out loud with a small chuckle and I grimaced, screwing up my nose. “Firstly, I don’t put my pecker anywhere unless I wrap it first. I was always careful,” he explained, and I felt a bit more relieved. “And Molly…” he paused, releasing a long sigh. “She and her gaggle of friends is known for trying to sleep their way to the top.”
“And you still slept with her? Moron,” I blurted out, sounding harsher than I intended to. Prince Kyle’s eyes grew wide at the accusation. “Sorry, Prince Kyle. I didn’t mean it like…” I didn’t get to finish; his lips were on mine again.
When we came up for air, “Never call me Prince Kyle. You are my equal, not my subordinate,” he whispered in my ear, as the hairs on the back of my neck stood up and goosebumps appeared on my arms. “Kyle, Babe, whatever you want. Not Prince.”
“You are not two. I won’t call you babe or baby and definitely not bubby. Goddess, that is the most hideous nickname a person can give to their mate,” I waffled on, going off on a tangent. Kyle stopped me again with another passionate kiss, and I wrapped my arms around his neck, running my fingers through his hair as I slipped my tongue into his mouth. He let out a groan, and I could feel the warmth between my legs. f**k! I can’t let him smell my arousal.
Kyle lifted me in his arms, keeping his lips on mine and gently carried me to the bed. “Wait!” I said through the mind link we had opened. “I… I’ve never…”
“We don’t have to do anything,” he whispered, a smile creeping on his lips and I exhaled a relieved breath. “Just having you here is enough for me.”
I relaxed slightly as Kyle trailed kisses down my neck, licking and sucking the spot he planned to place his mark. “You’ve never been with anyone?” he asked between kisses.
I shook my head no. “I’m not inexperienced by any means. I just never went all the way with anyone, given most of the guys I’ve been around were human, I didn’t want to commit to a s****l relationship.” Kyle gave a low growl, and I raised my eyebrow at him. “That’s the pot calling the kettle black, don’t you think?” I commented, and he gave a low chuckle, nodding his head before slamming his mouth on mine again
