It felt like I was floating, or sinking, or doing anything other than sleeping, because for the life of me, I couldn’t manage to fall asleep. It was as if I had fallen victim to a deep, dark abyss, but it was the black hole that was my thoughts, my imagination, and not the blanket of sleep.
