“No I mean… Taya was pregnant. Can you tell if this blood is—”
“Pregnant, why are you only telling us this now?” Rob fumed. Questioning how anything could survive what was done to her. He looked upon the blood again, a sinking feeling spread from the pit of his stomach.
“She only told me because she needed me to get the yew seeds. She said they're an essential part of the after birth care otherwise—”
“Well?” Rob prompted impatiently as Bray slid his fingers across the surface of the knife before touching the fluid to his lips. He felt the pressure of their eyes upon him.
“It's not… that's to say, if she was with child there's no reason to believe she is currently otherwise. But it may answer our second question. It's no wonder she was suffering.”
