The creature inhaled, its tongue tracing against Paion's flesh as he stood enraptured yet terrified. The touch of this being stirred feelings on par with that felt by humans in the presence of Moirai relics. But it was not a feeling of love that intermingled with his fear. It was something far more base in nature. Recognising it allowed him to shatter the thrall. He staggered forwards, already weakened from the attack. Backing away he felt his legs upon the altar, and used it as a barrier between them. The monster's gaze darted from Kitaia to Paion. Taking his dagger Paion drew it up her flesh. Saturating the air with her fragrance, hoping to offer temptation. But there was not even a glimmer of interest. Paion had disturbed his meal, and as such the predator would not continue its feast
