Chapter Twenty
ComplicationsTaya allowed her head to rest on Rob's shoulder. The sounds of the city faded into nothing more than white noise, and the rhythmic movement of his steady gait almost lulled her to sleep. Closing her eyes she allowed the warmth from his body to comfort her, and ease just a fraction of her pain. There was a conversation which needed to be had. It was an important one, and the thought of it filled her with dread.
She didn't remember reaching the inn, or even entering their room. The absence of his warmth sent shivers through her as he placed her upon the bed.
