Cutting off their heads and placing them into my storage scroll/inventory was a rather messy business. But none the less it was something that had to be done. What ever gains I received from leveling up, I ignored for now as I really wanted to return to the clan and be done with this mission. Thankfully I knew my way back, now the only problem was which route to follow. I couldn’t take the risk of going around the cliff I had fallen from hoping to fine a slope back to it’s top and right back to the path that would lead me to the clan. So with that realization the only thing left to do was to scale that bloody cliff. Anyway as I was climbing it, I realized that it wasn’t that much of a problem as I originally thought, I was stronger now, and much faster to, so there was no problem. Two hours later, way less time than I used to navigate the forest previously, I wandered back into the Kiryū clan grounds, looking very bloody and haggard. Maybe I did feel that way, but at the very least I completed the task that I had set out to do. I made my way towards the Kiryū tree, and there was Arashi, he was talking to Kimiko who was dressed in a flowing red kimono that accentuated her pretty red hair, she looked a lot better than I did that’s for sure. I walked towards Arashi and handed him the scroll with the severed heads of the servants. He took it from me with a raised eyebrow and examined it’s contents, then in a move that completely surprised me he tore the storage scroll, destroying the heads and everything else in it, which at this point was nothing more than my cleaning tools. It left me really pissed off. “You have out performed yourself again clans-man Christopher. You have proven that you have a good heart by choosing to understand a monster and believing that there was a chance for a change. But a man can not survive on just the goodness of his heart alone, not in Chikyu. But you have also proven that you have the grit and the mettle to get your hands dirty, to fight to protect what’s important to you and to defend the Kiryū clan without question. As such by the power vested in me by the Faction of Shōkan Toshi and the head of this illustrious clan, I find you worthy of the class, the honor, the burden and sacrifice of being an Akuma no Shinobi. Your mission is complete follow me.” [System Alert! You have completed Special Clan Mission: Grade C: Six servants have been discovered to be spies within the Kiryū household for an enemy clan within the village. The servants had somehow found out that the clan was on to them and escaped into the forbidden forest, making camp in a clearing half a day away. But she gave me a swift nod as if to reassure me that everything was going to be okay. I followed Arashi to the main clan building, which was built very much like an ancient Shogun's manor. The architecture was quite unique and beautiful and I found myself admiring the polished wooden boards and exquisitely decorated sliding doors. And then after a few dozen turns we ended up in a courtyard that was well hidden and isolated from the rest of the world. There was a massive seal etched on the ground, and I could see that Green scaled demon dragon resting leisurely on top of a rock, right beside a woman with red hair that reached all the way to her ankles. Or at least I think it reached her ankles because she was sitting a wheel chair. And then she turned around. My heart stopped, I didn’t think, I just rushed out towards her or at least I tried to. But a steely grip clamped down on my shoulder and fierce looking Arashi bored the full brunt of his glare on me as he pulled out a katana from God knows where. And it looks like he was ready to use it. “How dare you! Show some respect to the clan head! Who sent you? Are you a spy? I’ll kill you…….” “Arashi put away the sword before I have Kira use you as a scratching post. I’m sure he’s going to really like that.” Her voice didn’t seem like it had changed since the last time I saw her, it’s been three months, but it looked she had aged an extra thirty years. She looked up at me with a smile and moved her wheelchair towards me. The demon Dragon peeked it’s ears and head when she had mentioned a scratching post, but he put his head down completely bored of the entire situation. She came to a stop in front of me and gave me a smile. “Christopher, I’ve been waiting for you for quite some time now. How’s everyone doing, I trust you’ll be bringing my daughter in law to come see me soon right?” I couldn’t answer, all I could do was nod my head as I cried while Arashi stood back with a dumbfounded look on his face. My mother stretched out her hand for me, and I bent down and hugged her like my life depended on it. I could feel drops of tears falling on my back to show that I was not the only one caught up in this emotional moment. But I was happy none the less, I was reunited with my mom. Though Arashi had said she was in coma, so how come she was here, unless of course it was just a lie. Either way all that mattered to me right now, was that my mom was here. “Arashi, please let me introduce you to mine and your Master’s son. Christopher Dayo Felton.” Arashi widened his eyes in surprise before sheathing his katana and giving me a deep bow. The sudden change was shocking and I almost had no idea what to do with it, so I turned to my mother while Arashi spoke. “My apologies young master! I had no idea who you were. Please I will accept any punishment you deem fit for my transgressions.” I raised an eyebrow while a mischievous smile crossed my face, I turned and looked at the Demon Dragon who was at this moment staring at me and my mom with the same amount of surprise as Arashi's. I smiled before turning to Arashi. “Your punishment would be to be used as a scratching post by Kira, I’m sure the both of you will enjoy it.” “Chris!” “I mean you’re totally forgiven. There’s no problem with that, everything turned out okay.” Just five seconds reunited with my mother and my love for pranks came to the forefront. Come to think of it, I’ve been setting traps as a means to battle my opponents. I guess it’s not just my mother but this entire game that has awoken my love for traps. “Chris I know we have much to talk about, but the ceremony must be carried out. You have to become the next Akuma Shinobi of the demon Dragon. Step into the middle of the circle.” She had a no nonsense tone in her voice, and obviously this was a matter of great importance. There would be time for us to catch up and talk about everything that’s happened, but for now I just had to do what she said. “I’m not in agreement with this! I don’t want to be trapped again!” The Demon Dragon yelled as he got up to his feet glaring at my mother. “I understand your reluctance Kira, but you know this is the only way to truly keep you safe. And the only way for you to get your revenge and have access to your full powers, I know the form you’re in must be a little tight. So let’s work together once more, for a better future.” She said to him with a smile. “Humph! Your son is not so bad for a meat bag, but if he betrays me. I’ll devour him!” The tone of voice he used in saying that left a terrible chill in my bones. I raised my head to see him walk until he was standing right in front of me, a fierce glare on his face. Then my mother got up from her wheelchair, leaning on Arashi for support until she got to the edge of the seal. “Kiryū FuinJutsu: Yin-Yang Soul Seal: Activate!” And then the world seemed to burn as a progress bar appeared on the edge of my vision. But I couldn’t pay attention to that right now, I was in hell.
