Shōkan Toshi Ninja Academy

Shōkan Toshi was a bustling city, it was not exactly what you would expect a ninja city to be like. It was too big to be called a town, so definitely it was too loud to be seen as a place that trained ninjas. I had asked for directions to the ninja academy, so I was heading towards the north eastern part of the city, it wasn’t until after I’ve walked a good deal forward that I realized what I was looking at, or rather what was looking right back at me. It was a giant statue of my father’s head, asking someone who was passing by gave me all the explanation I needed leaving me with quite a bit of shock, I just chose to ignore the sheer spite that was within his voice. That was the stone statue of the former clan head of the Kiryū clan the person who almost destroyed the village along with his wife some few years back, which was why there was a giant furrow running from one edge of the stone face to the other, like some sort of ugly scar. That left me feeling really pissed, but there was nothing I could do at the moment. My parents reputation had hit rock bottom because of the attack, so anything that had to do with the Kiryū clan and My father left a bad taste in the mouth of everyone within the village. I marched on to the academy, taking in the sights of the village and marveling at how un-ninja like this entire place was. There were market districts, red light districts, clan districts, residential districts, and the ninja corps districts which had the academy, the council tower, the police station, the hospital, and the Ninja corps outpost. Eventually I was standing right in front of the gates of the academy, my recommendation letter clutched firmly within my grasp. I made my way in, moving forwards with a purpose and ignoring the stares I drew as players and NPC’s(none player characters) stared at the new arrival. I was just about to go in, when a man appeared in front of me in a full traditional ninja garb and a metal mask on his face. “Halt! There would be no admittance without a recommendation letter so get…….oh! You have one. Very well, come with me.” That was rather fast, awkward and to be honest, but I’m not one to look a gift horse in the mouth. I followed him into the building, went up a few flights of stairs before finally coming to a classroom that was filled to the brim with mostly other players. “find yourself a seat, you’re the last person needed for this class, so we can begin.” I shrugged my shoulders at that, handed him my recommendation letter before going to sit right besides a raven haired young man who looked like he had just jumped out of young adult supernatural romance novel adaption. I just sat besides him hoping to every ninja gods in existence that this guy wasn’t one of those weird role players. “Alright you guys listen up! You’re not kids so you can exactly be students of the ninja academy. However it’s important to note that each of you are a part of one clan or another of the village, so the matter of your age can be overlooked. Either way, you won’t be going through any sort of training like the younger children, instead you would be given your ninja ranks, and then be tasked to carry out a certain amount of domestic tasks for the academy. Once you complete this series of tasks, which you all have to finish within the next two weeks, you will be placed into the ninja corps and can take missions at your leisure. Some of you will be placed in special teams to carry out special missions for the village. This comes with high risks a d equally high rewards so do try your best. That’s when your real journey as a ninja begins. Once your rank has been received, you can all head to the council tower to take care of any domestic mission within the village. Also two weeks is just an estimate, if your able to complete 25 domestic missions within the village, you can be considered graduated, and you can be put in a team or in the corps. Now if you hear your name, walk forward and take your rank, I’ll be calling you guys out in the order of who got here last to the first. Christopher Kiryū …….. Kiryū?” The look of confusion and the sudden hushed whispers within the classroom made me feel a chill, I was embarrassed, but I was thankful for the mask over my face. I’m not sure I would have handled being stared at like that, I moved forwards and took the grey badge, ignoring all of the stares and the increased whispers around me, I couldn’t blame the players or NPICs either. I had the two most infamous names in the village, I was definitely an enigma to them. I walked back to my seat while the teacher, who had a plaque on his desk that read Morain Link continued calling other names. Eventually he got to the last name, and the person sitting besides me got up. “Vandal Senken-Sei. ” There were also whispers this time, mainly from the girls, and a few from the boys. The Senken-Sei clan is considered as one of the most powerful within Shōkan Toshi right now, they were also in charge of the police force and one of the highest advocates against the Kiryū clan, not that I cared about all that, I just wanted to do right by my mom and now this clan that I have become a part of. The Vandal dude took his badge and came back to his seat besides me, everyone was just looking at us both, almost as if they expected us to both grow fangs and start tearing into each other. I guess my life in this village won’t be as easy as expected, it would take a lot of hardworking for the village to stop viewing the Kiryū clan as a bad omen. “All right! I trust all of you know your way to the council tower, go there and get your missions. Also you guys should be here bright and early tomorrow, the Academy also has learning missions for you guys. Class dismissed.” The teacher disappeared and the students were left to mingle amongst themselves. Of course with the reveal of my name, even the players seemed a little wary about getting close to me, seems like they’ve all gotten a basic gist of the lore surrounding the village itself. I was about to leave when someone blocked my way with a rather annoyed look on his face. “Christopher Kiryū, humph! Obviously you’re a part of the Kiryū clan, but any relation to it’s traitor clan head?” the guy asked as a couple of lackeys took their place behind him. I could have just said no, and walked away, but I’ve been separated from my parents for Eleven years, I’m not going to deny them just to avoid trouble. That’s not the kind of example I would want to set for my son. “Yeah…….he’s my father.” I replied with an even voice as I locked gazes with him. There was a wild sinister grin on his face as he said. “If that’s the case, as a chosen of the Kōjō clan, I believe it’s well within my right to kick your ass for all the s**t your parents put the Shōkan Toshi through. Prepare yourself!” {You Have Been Challenged To A Duel. Accept: Y/N} Well then, let’s see how I match up compared to other players. “Yes!”
