“Don't look at me like that. I was scared and I thought that having a baby would ruin everything for us. I just wanted us to go back to the way things were. But your mother would not hear any of it, she wanted the baby.
Things were even worse when her family found out about it, they told her we had to get married. I was fresh out of high school, I didn't have a stable job, how was I supposed to take care of a wife and a kid? I told them I couldn't marry her, but they kept pushing for it.
Eventually, I guess she got tired of all the fighting and the conflict, one day she just left. We didn't hear from her again and I went on with my life. Don't get me wrong, the first couple of weeks, I tried to look for her but I didn't find her so I gave up. Life had to go on.
